Played this outstanding golf course last weekend and i have to say it is getting better every time the greens were consistent considering all the wet weather the scenery around Lough Muckna was beautiful any wonder the two Christy's O'Connors designed such an outstanding course In such a lovely part of Ireland. Having played golf all over Ireland I would rate this course in the top 10 in the country, Clubhouse is excellent for food and very reasonable priced.Staff very helpful and courteous, will play again and hopefully I will get a better score next time.
This 18 hole course is in great condition and so very scenic it is hard to concentrate on your shot for gazing at the landscape. Friendly staff, good pace of play and every hole offers a new challenge. Complete with all the amenities and a great 19th hole!!
Simply my favorite golf course in the world, setting is perfect ,the course a challenge and the restaurant a delight. So even if the golf is not going to well there is always the scenery. So my two bits of advice are if you get a chance to play here, take it and hire a buggy the walks between greens and next tee boxes are long on bumpy paths.
Concra Wood Golf Club is just outside Castleblaybey in Co.Monaghan.The Restaurant has the most stunning views over the Lake. Castleblayney is known as the Killarney of the North. The Restaurant serves good food . Sadly, they took off their best starter...the deep fried Brie. I commented on this to Michael but it has not been put back on ....yet! The staff in this restaurant are some of the best waitressing staff I have ever been served by...in any restaurant , anywhere! They care! This matters a lot when you are allergic to both Onions and Garlic! I would recommend this restaurant especially curing daylight hours!
This is one of the most scenic courses in Ireland built around beautiful Lough Muckno. When we visited Greens had been pole forked but it did not detract from the enjoyment. By the way we had pre booked our gold 4 weeks in advance and we got a phone call to tell us greens were pole forked- unusual in our experience. The course is not only scenic it is also in magnificent condition and as it was the 1st Friday of the month competition was off the Black Markers- a real challenge but very enjoyable. There are some spectacular holes. The clubhouse is extremely well designed and blends in very well with the surrounding area and they serve excellent food and drink. Well worth the visit but do take a buggy , it is long and a little hilly.
only 6 year old, nice views ok but it will take time for it to obtain some aesthetic definition .. hire a buggy you will need it some hills and its very soggy underfoot, lovely views from the clubhouse take time to have a drink and a bite to eat and take in the vistas.
Challenging, scenic golf course with lots of interesting features and spectacular views over lakes and mountains.Great food afterwards in the clubhouse.
We stopped by the club for a late lunch and were very pleasantly surprised . The views of the course were magnificent. The food was very good and the servers were fantastic. Very clean facilities, impressive.
This is one of the best golf courses in Ireland. Very similar to Lough Erne Faldo perhaps even better in design and making full use of lough Muckno. The fairways just wouldnt be as good with drainage just not there yet however they are getting better. Greens are all superb. Every hole is different and a real challenge with perhaps the 18th being the only let down. 10th through to 15 are card wreckers. Staff friendly and nice club house. When all the tarmac etc is finished it will be excellent. Go play it and bring your A game.
This is a must play course. Every hole bar one is a real challange of golf. I can' believe more people are not raving about this course. Well done. Club house and food excellent also.
