If you like painting, this church is definitely a must-go place in Caxias do Sul. Don't be fooled by the facade (which isn't especially beautiful) - the real gems are all inside. Take your camera and hold your breath.
This is without a doubt the best place to visit in Caxias. The church has an amazing architecture and art work which was performed by Aldo Locatelli which is a Italian-Brazilian painter. The art works took ten years to be completed and are considered his greatest works. The church also has a replica of the "The Pietà" sculpture by Michelangelo. The original one is at the St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican City.
Not suntuous or gold enriched like famous churches, but marvelous paintings by the Itlalian painter Aldo Locatelli.
On the outside it doesn´t look like much but once you´ve gone in the artwork on the ceiling and on the walls are breathtaking.
A different church with nice paintings from Aldo Locatelli, italian painting, a fantastic reproduction of Pieta , Michelangelo, a treasure of church. The best in Caxias, splendorous.
Definately the most beautiful church in the city! It is a must go sightseeing!A lot of history and beautiful paintings from Aldo Locatelli. It's on downtown, so very easy to go, with a lot of different thing to see around either!
Fiquei impressionada com os murais pintados. Muito emocionantes. Mas a cópia da Pietá é diferente do original...Foi uma visita muito legal!
Painted not in a traditional manner of fragile Jesus, Locatelli's works make you look at the body from a different angle and impress you by the stoic power of suffering and pain..The Church is certainly worth a visit..
