A small but cozy bar to meet up in to share stories of the day. Dinner also available. It has been around since the 1950's which gives it a feel of soul.
Discrete and stylish little place just off the church square. Welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Fine dining with good wines in an old world setting. Probably one of the few places in Zermatt that serve fresh oysters daily.
It is only a small bar, but all drinks available. Staff are friendly and it is a nice place for a drink after skiing
My father and I had a guys weekend to Zermatt.. Found this little place and had such an amazing time. It a quite place not a crazy party scene. That why I love it.. The Owner was a great guy who struck up quite a in depth conversation.. One of the most friendly bars I have been to in a long time.. Its a must for Zermatt !!!!!!
A great bar where you would go for a quieter drink rather than a raucous apres ski moment. The staff were charming. The Swiss wines we had on both visits were a revelation.
One of the oldest in the town - staff was incredible! Phillipe, the manager, treated us like royalty. Such a wonderful evening there. I wish we had been able to sample the food - The patrons who were eating there appeared to enjoy it. Great conversation - felt like I was "home".
We went to Elsie's Bar for an after dinner drink. It's a cozy small place in a traditional old wooden house in the center, next to the church. The place was deserted but must be a lively place during winter season. Service was friendly. There is one outdoor table, looking perfect on a nice warm day.
Stayed in Zermatt for just 4 nights, went to Elsie's on the 1st night and returned 2 more times. Bar area is lovely old school traditional Swiss. Staff very personable and friendly. Food was lovely-snails and fois gras. Considering this is Switzerland the prices were reasonable too, especially the complimentary bar snacks with the drinks.
