An excellent 3 day ski school with Magda of European Snowsports Zermatt. After 27 years not skiing Magda proved an excellent teacher and by the end of 3 days my husband and I were skiing as well as we had 27 years ago! Magda was very professional in her teaching but also very patient and supportive. A great experience.
Our three children had lessons with Nico last week and they made great progress and, more importantly, had a lovely time. Nico was patient, fun, reliable and always positive.
As a total beginner I booked 2 private lessons with Mark from ES - I could not have asked for better service and tuition. ES as a company were highly professional both on the slopes and when booking lessons.Mark ensured the lesson was tailored to me and appropriately challenged me to ensure by the end of the second lesson I was confident skiing on a range of slopes. His tuition was first-rate, providing clear direction and a range of solutions, which significantly sped up my progression and snubbed any bad habits which may have developed. Not only was the instruction to a high standard, all instructors encountered were knowledgeable, patient and above great company. Highly recommended - from no skiing experience on day 1 to skiing reds and the odd black by day 4. I could not have achieved this without ES's tuition. Tim Richards.
My wife and I started our week in Zermatt as complete novices and ended our week as competent blue run skiers. Our instructor Tom was excellent and he built us up from having no idea how to ski to now being able to navigate our way around the mountain with relative ease. Tom took the time to explain the technicalities of skiing as well as showing us the sites and was an all round good bloke as well. We would recommend European Snow Sports to anyone looking to learn how to ski in Zermatt.
We just spent two weeks in Zermatt with a son of 10 and a daughter of 4. Our son was quite advanced and our daughter a complete beginner. In the two weeks they had 4 different ski instructors Hannah, Nicolas, Tom and Domi. Also other instructors would help out on an occasional day (or were just helpful by the lifts etc) All the teachers were great with the kids, flexible, knowledgeable, they were not only teaching how to ski, but also how to become a better skier on the pistes (for example give space to other skiers), how to improve in a group, giving confidence etc. Both kids really improved in the two weeks, our son on the yellow piste and our daughter was on the last day on the red piste. The instructors took each level in the group into consideration and helped every child as much as possible. I was very content and would recommend this school and their instructors highly.
Our party of 2 families put our children (aged 8, 6, 5, 4 and 3) into ski school with European Snowsports in Zermatt for 5 days (mornings). Their instructors, John, Mark and Alistair made the children (and therefore their parents) feel very comfortable, to the extent that they were really looking forward to their lessons every day. The children's skiing improved immeasurably over the course of the week with all (except the 3 year old) doing blue runs easily by the end of our holiday, without having skied much beforehand. The instructors were very friendly and gave great feedback. Recommended highly.
My friend and I have just finished 3 days of ski school with ES in Zermatt and have to say we have had an exceptional experience.Having both skied for a few years at a reasonable standard we felt that this year we would take just a few lessons to brush up on technique. We booked the sessions though our tour operator (Inghams). We arrived at the bottom of the Sunnegga lift at the appointed time and were met by Alistair from European Snowsport (ES).There were just five in our group for the three days, all of slightly differing abilities but Alistair was absolutely amazing with all of us, taking time to consider the needs of the group as well as the individuals.Over the three days we all had individual comments and tips on how to improve along with plenty of encouragement. There were also plenty of laughs thrown in along the way.I would not hesitate to recommend ES and Alistair in particular. We all found him engaging, informative and genuinely committed to improving our skiing.Definitely the best ski instructor I have ever had.
My son 4 and half years old (first time on slopes) was supper happy every day to go to his ski lessons all last week with ES. Alister is great ski instructor and made the lessons super fun for the kids!! Well done Alister keep going!!
For the last 2 days I've been learning to snowboard with Tommy. I had never been on snow, coming from a place where it doesn't exist. Tommy was amazing! He made me so comfortable at all times, held my hand when i needed it, explained in perfect detail and never once made me feel like an idiot or anything remotely close! He ensured i was never in a position where i had 4 year olds intimidating me, or adults putting me at risk. I was always comfortable and trusted him when he said i could do the next step because he would always be there to make sure i could- or to catch me. If it weren't for the fact that I'm at the end of a backpacking trip and absolutely broke i would have stayed at least another day. Regardless because of tommy i will make sure that i snowboard again sometime in the near future.
We booked Aleks for three, three hour sessions. She was happy to be adaptable and so my 6 and 4 year old had a lesson with her for an hour and a half on the first two days(she would happily have taken up to 6 kids I'm told!) and then I took the other hour and a half on those first two of the days. On the third day I went with Aleks for the full three hours which meant I could finally consolidate blue runs! We stopped for a coffeee and a chat when I got a bit worn out and then went skiing again! Aleks is quite capable of teaching far more advanced skiers too. Aleks is a really confident, patient and inspiring teacher of adults and although the children were in a strange environment she was completely in control when teaching them so they felt safe and secure and were well looked after by Aleks while they were learning to ski. We all got loads out of the lessons and had a really nice time.
