If you have not been to Zermatt you have been to Switzerland. Such a lovely place. The whole city looks like a place in an animated movies. Add to this beauty is the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. Kids have loads of fun there. Snow tubing & play in the snow in the Summer is great. Views are just exceptional. Very good arrangements to get there & as usual extremely organized.
This ski area is the most incredible in the world. The size, scale, lift network, snow quality, and scenery is second to none! The on-slope restaurants and variety are amazing.
One of the most beautiful places I have ever been. 360 view includes the highest and most beautiful Alps peaks. You can even get a picture of Matterhorn and Mont Blanc right next to each other!Expensive, but... after 3 times still want to come back.
We went to glacier paradise because we wanted to ski up there. We didn't visit the glacier exhibit but it is very worth a trip to see the views from the panoramic photo spot. The views skiing in Zermatt are stupendous anyway but this was outstanding. Awesome experience for the non skier too! Worth the long trip up there!
I did not like the Zermatt ski area, most of the time you spend in long lines for the big ski cabins or the train. The ski cabins are mostly filled with alcohol breathed skiieers. The streets are crowded with Russians in fur coats. Strange place.
Excellent place to ski in the world. Possibly the best .very high good snow and best view in the world
If you are going to go on the trip up the klein Matterhorn, ensure NOT to miss the Glacier paradise!!! It is absolutely spectacular. As we left Zermatt, the temperatures dropped and we ended up in the middle of a blizzard. so of course we did not have ANY views from the top of the Matterhorn. This was not a problem, as we were totally blown away by the glacier paradise. Just before we went into the glacier, we were warned about the shortage of breath and how people battled on their way out - DONT LET THEM PUT YOU OFF!!! Yes, you do become slightly short of breath, but just move slowley and breath steadily, and is really not bad at all! Seeing the glacier paeradise, and all the carved animals/statues, really did make the day a memorable one, and despite not having any views, this particular day was one of our highlights in Switzerland. Seeing Zermatt, the town at the bottom of the mountain, where the cable car leaves from, is also wonderful. Ensure to set a full day aside to really appreciate the town of Zermatt, aswell as the Matterhorn and glacier paradise.
Great ski area with views of the Matterhorn. Fast and efficient lifts. Great apre ski drinks and snacks on the mountain. Go!
We traveled up to the top of the Klein Matterhorn to get the 360 degree views of Italy, the south face of the Matterhorn and to see the ice palace. The ice palace was ok - basically carved ice sculptures inside an ice cave. The real reason to come here are for the views. We we're here on a cloudless day and we could see deep into the Italian Alps. You can ski from here over into Italy. Italian side has easier skiing than Zermatt. Three Recommendations - do not come here on your first couple of days as the altitude up here will effect. We went up in Day 4 and we still felt a little dizzy. Second, if you just want to ski over to the Italy side don't wait in the gondola line up to the Klein, take the 2 tow ropes at Truckner Steg as it is substantially quicker. We waited 45 mins for the gondola up to the Klein. Thirdly, leave early in the morning the day you want to go up to avoid the lines. Get to Furi by 8:00am and you'll eliminate the long lines.
within some 20 minutes you are from downtown zermatt all the way at almost 3000 meters above sea with wonderful views.much more interesting and variety then the Sunegga side
