Swimming in Kezar Lake is an amazing experience. With the White Mountains on one side and the Oxford Hills on the other, the scenery can not be beat! The beaches are for residents of the town of Lovell, so the beaches never are over crowded.
If you stay on the east side of the lake you have spectacular view of the White Mountains of NH. This is one of the nicest lakes you will find anywhere, absolutely pristine. If you get the opportunity - go!
Yes that sounds cliche - but Kezar Lake in Lovell Maine is truly that. We've been coming here since 2009 and have never been disappointed. We stay in a house in the Northwest Cove - with beautiful views of the sunset over the White Mountains. The lake is quiet - even in high season. The fishing is tremendous - large and small mouth bass, perch, salmon. Kayaking, boating of all sorts, peace and quiet...Truly amazing.
We had access through friends so we could enjoy its beauties. The lake is accessible at the Kezar Lake Marina. It a 6 mile long lake with some beautiful homes. A laid back place and good for families who love the chance to hike and fish and swim.
The water is very warm this year.If you are not staying at a resort on the lake and want to swim, visitors can use the Center Lovell Town Beach. Boats can be launched nearby at the marina in the "Narrows".
Went to Quisisana for a performance and spent the afternoon at the Lake surrounded by trees and mountains...pristine and serene!
The call of the loons in the evening, a view of the mountains...it doesn't get much better than Kezar. There is a public beach, boater and swimmer friendly.
Loons don't journey from the Maine coast inland to just any lake. They are very discriminating. They seasonally migrate only to a lake where the water purity and seclusion befit their summer cycle. Kezar Lake is it. Watch for eagles, moose, beaver, fox, and deer. This lake is as pure as it gets. Quiet and hidden with gorgeous sunset views over the White Mountain National Forest, Kezar Lake is tops in any season. Water ski, snow ski, leaf peep, swim, ice fish, sail.
A place to go; put a kayak in and just paddle around. Beautiful spot to relax and enjoy life. Maine is the place to be!
Picturesque, clean and not too crowded. It's where we stay every summer. It's out of the way and that's why we love it so much. To get to a super market it's 40 minutes away. Plus side North Conway is about 35 minutes west. There are a couple local stores with limited supplies. If you just want to relax and really enjoy nature or hike then this is the place for you. There is not to much in the way of entertainment. There are a couple nice restaurants Ebenezers and Pleasant Point Inn. But to truly enjoy the beauty of the lake I would recommend a boat ride up and down the entire lake. The upper bay is breath taking. The downside is it is pricey. But that may be what keeps it quiet.
