Glad you had such a great time. Come back soon. We have events all year, like the Flyers Wine Release Party, you enjoyed so much. Cheers!
We found this just from driving by and stopped in. Very nice setting and a reasonably priced tasting. Some gourmet goodies to buy as well , and since it was during the holidays a few other vendors set up selling their wares. A nice way to pass an hour.
Went to the wine and cheese pairing. What a disappointment. They had other things going on at the winery too but the staff didn't seem to know what was going on, didn't give us glasses at first for the tastimg, the house where the tasting was at was freezing cold. I would not go back.
We are very sorry about your experience. That is definitely what we are not about. If you could please write us info@chaddsford.com or call 610-388-6221 ext 203, so that we can really understand what went wrong. This review troubles us very much and we would like to know what went wrong and how best to improve it so that you will come back,
Ok - I preface this review with saying - I absolutely love this place and have loved it for years!! I like the location - the events/festivals that they host during the spring/summer months. The grounds are lovely and the outdoor seating is spacious - especially if you bring your own chair and blanket. I love to do this when live bands are playing. I live in the city, so going out to this countryside retreat that is only 35 minutes away makes me feel that I have taken a lovely day trip hours away. Now onto the wine selections. I usually like to go when there are wine tastings events because the costs are usually below $10/pp. I enjoy tasting all that the winery has to offer. I really enjoy the whit proprietors reserve - one of my favs (if you enjoy a dry white - go for it). The Cab/Merlot mix is great for a red. If you enjoy the sweeter wines - try the niagara and sunset blush. I recommend this as a cool "day date" - what can be better than spending time at a winery with wines that actually taste good.
We are very sorry that you had the experience you did. That is certainly not the feeling we want guests like you to have. Please contact at us info@chaddsford.com or call at 610-388-6221 ext. 203 so that we can better understand what happened. We would like you to come back to visit us.
My wife and I visited the winery for our anniversary this past weekend for the trick or treat wine tasting. The female bartender during the tasting was very pleasant and informative. We had a very nice time. My only complaint would be that, as it was our first time, my wife and I didn't realize which order we were supposed to sample the wine nor did we know which candies to pair with which wine since it was not noted on the handout. Other than that, our experience was very nice.
We are so very sorry for your experience. None of what you described should have occurred. Please contact us at info@chaddsford.com or 610-388-6221 ext. 203. We would really like to know what went so wrong on your visit. We will try our hardest to make sure this does not occur and are taking steps to understand what occurred and how to fix it.
The Chaddsford Winery offers a nice, uncrowded tasting room with a free glass for the taster. The wines are good everyday table wine quality, and quite affordable. We always try to support local businesses wherever we live, and this little winery does not disappoint. In addition, summertime brings a chance to picnic to live music on the weekends, a great way to entertain out of town guests with something uniquely Chadds Ford.
I bought wine tasting for two from coupon site for my boyfriend and I. He has never been to a wine tasting but I have been to several wineries and have had wonder experiences. I wanted him to have that same experience and education but it fell short on so many levels. We walk in and had in our certificate and were handed a glass with 3 raffle tickets in it. So classy and sanitary all at the same time. Right? Then we were directed to go down stairs, we passed the vats in which the wine is fermented and follow the signs to the wine tastings. Into the bottling area where we were directed to place two tickets in a bucket where a gentleman stood with four wines sat on a board that stretched across two barrels. He gave the name of the wines and the flavor but nothing it would pair with. Once we sampled the four wines we were directed across the room where another station stood. A young woman gave us samples of the next grouping and again no pairings. Once we were done we had to show ourselves out. I did purchase one bottle of wine with the flyers logo and only for the logo not because of the experience or because of the flavor. So do yourself a favor unless they change the experience here, go to another winery because you will be severely disappointed I know I was!
