An ideal place to be visted for those who love heights. You are taken to a resort more than 6000 feel above MSL - as high as Shimla in 15 minutes with the help of a cable car (ropeway). The journey may be enjoyable for some and scary for some but once you reach the resort located on top of a hill - the scene and feeling is altogether different. You feel on top of the world. It is warm on the road level and cool on the resort. All amenities available to have fun and even if one wants to spend the night there, arrangements are there. The evironment is perfecxt for a good vacation!
What i liked the most is the view from the room window. You can view whole chandigarh, panchkula, mohali... Food is really really expensive.. I suggest you to bring your ready to eat stuff like maggi, canned food etc. They provide microwave and utensils for your convenience...
Timber Trail can be reached by cable car with approx. INR 700 fee for the short ride. Once you arrive on top of the mountain, you have limited access to properties. Moksha repsort and spa is out of bounds for visitors. You can watch the sunset from the restaurant. New hotel Terrace just opened. Rooms are decent with great view.
A must see if your visiting Chandigarh, worth it for the cable car ride alone. Foods not bad in the restaurant either if a little on the pricey side.
Guys believe me this is certainly nothing to fear and get afraid while sitting in this cable car. We never felt anytime we were going in the cable car.Pros of this place is you can have the most awesome view of Shivaliks and photo fanatics people would love to visit this place. This is in middle of your route to Shimla and kasauli.Ticket for an adult is 770/-.From Chandigarh there are 2 tolls you have to cross to reach Parwanoo. One way ride is of 8 mins duration and total ride is of 16 mins. Ticket is valid for 2 hours,so if you exceed that time you will be stucked in the mountains!! Not really its just a trick not to allow people to remain there for long hours as people from Moksha Resort and Timber Trail resorts can enjoy an easy life to enjoy. Most of the sides in the resort are reserved for people staying there, however you can have some nice pics of mountains and can eat at a restaurant(thats on higher price as well). Overall an average experience but with the same amount we could have a lot other things!!
1 hr drive from sec 17, this joyride surely is a unique feature in this area. Chill on mountain can be bit biting but the breathtaking scenary and safe and enjoyable joyride worth compensates that. One can spend 2-3 hrs here and in hotel. One must go atleast once to get an experience.
halfway between chandigarh and kasuali , it is stopover destination which has been there for a very long time. mostly known for its ropeway, overall the place was quite goodthe place is quite well made , and decently maintained . the food is ok , the staff is quite helpful it also has rooms on the lower deck which are quite average ,but once you take the ropeway and go to the other side , it is a newly developed area and quite modern and updated. the also have a new restaurant called the deck, it is a open air restaurant overlooking the valley , on a nice sunny afternoon during the winters this is an ideal location to enjoy an afternoon with friends and family. all in all quite good .
If anyone is coming to Shimla Side this place is must visit. You can also cover it from Chandigarh.A stayover / Stopover would be an excellent idea.Food: Quality is good. Prefer Indian Food. Service : Decent and Very Good considering Hill Station PropertyAmbience: There are 5-6 Different Restaurants in the property and all have there own charm and cuisine specialities also. The Deck has the Ambience and Atmosphere. The Moksha Restaurant is even better with an amazing view but you have to stay i Moksha to eat there.Value For Money: Above Average $ and i would say on the higher side Expensive. Overall Experience: Must see cause when you are on a holiday and the Cable Car Experience there and Food Decent and covinient a Say Goo.
Breathtaking views of nature from the ropeway. Enjoyed every moment of the ropeway to and fro journey. Appeared little costly when you are not going to stay. They should have offered some package with the ropeway tickets.
Timber trail is a very old attraction which is-int exactly in Chandigarh. Rather its halfway , ON the way to the Kasuali Hill station. This is one of the oldest resorts around Chandigarh and can easily be enjoyed as a day trip. So, there is a well supported cable car that takes tourists to and fro between two hills to the Resort where the one can enjoy beautiful views of the valley below. The resort serves all kinds of food but is on the expensive side and not really worth the money spent. Visit this place if you don't have anything better to do on your trip!!
