We got to the Rock about half an hour late for our appointment, however, they quickly rescheduled for our group! The GCB staff were really awesome, they are so friendly, professional and supportive! It was a bit pricey actually. Anyways, we had a great experience with GCB staff and the jump!
If you want to have the trill of your life go there jump and enjoy!
Ive gone bungeeing here twice and both times found the staff friendly and energetic. Dunk yourself at the end of your bungee in their Nice quarry. Located next to a stellar poutine shack named jean burger for afterward.. Zipline is fun too, quite fast, reverse your harness to fly like superman..
Great day, lady who took care of the site was welcoming and cabin was warm, really nice after ice diving.
This was my first time doing a bungee jump and I was not disappointed. Overall, the location is easy to get to from Ottawa, the jump spot is beautiful and the staff are extremely friendly. Of note is that from the bottom where you register, there is a steep incline which you have to hike up to get to the crane which also has a few steps to climb. If you opt to do the zip line and the bungee jump, then you will have to do the hike twice. I did do the zip line too, a first for me as well. I could have done without the zip line as I personally did not find it very exciting. The highlight of the zip line was having to lean on the platform and having it slowly fall away and then me shooting out Superman style! Note that the superman-style harness is contingent on weight and if over a certain weight, then you do the other one which is more in a seated position. As for the bungee jump, by the time our turn came, it had begun to rain. They did not cancel or stop the jumps. The crane being metal did become slippery due to the rain so I just had to walk slowly and carefully. They offer you a chest harness or an ankle harness; the latter give you the full and traditional bungee experience so that is what I opted for. The jump itself was wonderful. I am not afraid of heights and in fact, I quite love them so there was no hesitation. While waiting for the countdown, I took in the surroundings and the area is just beautiful and the view of the water from that height is gorgeous. The jump comes with an option of a water dip which I passed. After the initial jump, you bounce around and then slow down to just hanging there while slowly being lowered to a waiting boat to take you to shore. The jump itself was not painful but hanging upside down does give you a blood rush to the head and my calves hurt from the harness. This was all temporary though and totally worth it!I also opted for the video. It is good quality and captures all aspects from me walking on the crane to getting ready to jump and then the actual jump. It captures audio as well and my "wheeeee" can be heard clearly :)Other side notes: the bathrooms are porta-potties. There is an observation area and my friend who did not jump was able to get good pictures from the spot.Overall, would definitely recommend the bungee jump!
What can I say bungee jumping is awsome gather the courage and jump what a ride! this is apparently north americas highest jump so unless you have time to go to new zealand this is the place to go. They run a very good organized operation. I bought a video the video was shot on max zoom from the bottom of the quarrie Probably would have got better footage if I had just brought my own cameras. In summary bungee jumping should be on your bucket list so just go do it.
On October 7,th I had the opportunity to do my first bungee jump at the Great Canadian Bungee in Wakefield Quebec.Upon arriving;our jump was slated for 11am; my friend decided he wanted to have separate jumps so pictures could be taken. The check in staff had no problem with booking our jumps an hour apart and at the last minute. My turn came and the guys on top of the crane were extremely professional, explaining everything in French and English.. Safety here is paramount as it should be.When getting ready for my jump,I was hooked up to the bungee and had a case of the "What the heck am I doing here? Am I nuts?" fear. The guys at the end and in charge of the count down were so supportive. I jumped and cannot believe how absolutely freeing it was. The views are spectacular and they were made more spectacular by the colour of the trees, the turquoise of the water, and the quarry walls. There were scuba divers in the quarry as well, so this area does double duty. All in all a GREAT experience.I will be returning at least once a year for the thrill, but will spend a lot more time enjoying the surroundings. If you're not into the thrill of jumping off a crane 200 feet in the air attached to an elastic band, you can still go and enjoy the awesome surroundings at this site. After our jump we went into the small village of Wakefield. A quaint little village with spectacular views, awesome little shops and great little pubs.
it was great everyone had a riot and we even got a great movie to take home......safe well organized good location.......easy drive to ottawa and possible wonderful tourist stop on the way to wakefiled.
I've been bungee jumping here twice, both times super fun! You can get dipped in the quarry if you like. Also, swimming in the quarry is beautiful and refreshing. You can easily spend the whole day there and they allow you to bring a cooler!
Took the kids for an afternoon of bungee jumping and zip-lining. The setting is spectacular. The bungee jumping takes place on a platform that juts 200 feet above an old quarry (filled with water). The zip-line speeds at over 100 kilometres per hour for over 100 feet. The viewing area is well located for filming or cheering. GCB is very professionally run, with fun, courteous staff who walked us through the process and ensured that we had a safe experience. It's not cheap but it's well worth it.
