The tour included a variety of interesting aspects, including video, cake and coffee, touring the plant and goodies-to-go. Handicapped accessible and you won't spend the whole hour on your feet. Fully enjoyable and free.
Free! But you must call ahead to reserve a spot on the tour. Cool to see part of the factory. Didn't realize how much corn mix jiffy makes. Best time of year to visit is during baking season (fall through Christmas) when most of the lines are running.Free samples and a goodie bag to take home with you.
We generally like tours and often try to make them a part of our trips. It is nice that Jiffy Mix is still doing tours. Nice that it is made in USA. Even though I don't make my own muffins, it was still fun to watch and learn.Tour was informative. People were pleasant. It would be nice if they would use real blueberries instead of artificial colors. But it's why you take the tour - to learn things. And it's made in USA, which you don't see too often anymore, unfortunately.
This is a should see when in Chelsea, Michigan. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and full of information. We got to see the making of "Jiffy Mixes" from start to finish and came away with many good memories. It was rather nostalgic for me as I had a small business where on promotional sales, the "Jiffy Corn Muffins" were featured often and I had no realization that these were made in Michigan!
gotta love a company that does things for their employees. and puts out a product that reminds me of home. Now there are different types of Jiffy Mix. Who doesn't love a muffin or a biscuit?
Our group really enjoyed the Jiffy tour. The short film was entertaining and informative. Products were available for purchase. Tour box was 24 mixes for $12 including cookbook. Fudge brownie was the flavor of the month so we all received a baked sample and box mix. The tour was through the packing area of the factory. The employees are very informative and friendly. Oh, and the tour is free.
This was a very nice tour that started with samples of muffins served with coffee, tea or water. Yum. Then there was a little movie about the history of Jiffy which was interesting and cute. We were then given the option of shopping in their little store area...no high pressure or guilt sales, the tour guide was really friendly. There was a really quick video on safety for the tour, and off we went through a portion of the factory. We enjoyed seeing all the aspects of the process, making the boxes, filing them and packing them up. The thank you bags at the end were great! And its free! Call ahead to reserve a spot, they do get school kids in there sometimes. We were only in the area one day and were able to get in the same day we called. From start to end this took about an hour total, but timing would depend on the size of your tour group.
Not many companies still offer tours like this. Kudos to Jiffy for still doing this! From a movie to samples to an actual factory tour, it was a fascinating peek into how the Jiffy Corporation operates. Not only did my children and myself enjoy it but my parents who reside close by did as well. I would highly recommend it!
The tour guides are a lot of fun and very informative. We had fun learning about Jiffy mixes and the company. This tour is only an hour and it's free. It's a good tour for adults and kids. When the tour is over they give you a sample of the 1 1/2 million boxes of Jiffy mix they produce everyday. Hey it's free, it's fun and worth it. Also don't miss the great restaurants and the quaint town of Chelsea.
My wife loves this Jiffy corn mix so we decided to stop on our cross country trip. This is a trip in itself. There is a movie discussing the company a muffin taste with water, juice or coffee and then a short tour through the factory. They do hawk some items including the mixes but they are a pretty good deal, 24 mixes in the box for $12. They also sell tee shirts. At the end you get a recipe book and two packs of blueberry mix.Really just a nice day with friendly Jiffy staff and free to boot.
