I love this park and run through here a lot. Very safe and pet friendly too! Great for family walks or even bike rides!
I had not heard of this attraction until I found it on this site. There is a nice & easy walking trail through the "wilderness". The staff was very friendly but the center was extremely hot - just fans operating. There are many displays inside and there is also a learning center for groups, one of which was there today. We saw several animals and had a gopher tortoise follow us around the butterfly garden. There is plenty of parking and there are signs giving directions. It's hard to believe this [place is only a few hundred feet off of busy highway 19. At a cost of $3 per person, it is a worthwhile experience.
While spending the dayin Clearwater we really enjoyed this park. My son and I saw wild peacocks, several rabbits, many turtles and an otter. I was amazed being so close to the city that you could find a place with such a natural setting. Well worth the vsit and $3 entrance fee. They also have a nature center with birds and other small animals.
Staff very nice, park not so much. If one desires to experienceOne turtle and one four inch owl this is your gig, not to speak about my sweaty butt crack. This brought my mind back to the days of being murdered by a chain saw. Check out the picnic area, aswell ,if you would like to see the largest collection of spider webs .
Lovely free nature trail with few people visiting it. Nice staff who teach you about the birds and wildlife. The trail is covered by many beautiful trees. I just moved here from Colorado so was quite happy about this find!
We decided it would be fun to stop off here on our way back to the airport (we were a bit early for our flight)...imagine our surprise when we got here and it is closed. I guesses I should have been more proactive and checked the hours on the website, but a nature park being closed on the weekend never crossed my mind. I would love to give this place a good review, but I wouldn't know.
This is a great local park for birding (they also have some handicapped birds one can see close up) and just getting away from the hustle and bustle.
This is a very large park, great for hiking through the woods. They also have a few rescued animals (including two eagles). The staff here are very knowledgable about the animals and plants that occupy this park. There is also a lake at this park where you often see birds of varying kinds. Amazing to know that is very near a very heavily traveled road. You are sure to enjoy this park.
Came to see some animals well run place friendly staff nice level HA paths. This is free and nearby parking. Weather today was great for a walk no bugs.
As of May 1, 2014, it's free admission! A surprising nature break in one of the most developed counties in Florida. Crushed shell hiking trails through 51 natural acres, and a care and exhibit center for permanently injured wildlife. We were lucky when we were there, they were working with some hawks for their educational programs and we got an up close look. Close Sunday, Monday Tuesday and Wednesday so plan accordingly.
