I felt transported to another country. This place is absolutely gorgeous: imported pink sandstone, marble and hand carved wood.
I will come back visit with more Friends ,is Beautiful and Amazing structure Architecture ,I had the pleasure to visit the Temple
You can help notice it as you drive by on the freeway. We stayed at Ayres in Chino Hills and it is almost right behind the hotel. After looking it up on-line, we went for a visit. The amount of detail was amazing
I checked out the website of this mandir and learned a lot about their beliefs and customs. I then toured the facility, which was beautiful. It is amazing they were able to build something so beautiful in today's world as we don't seem to pay attention to as much detail as this building represents. I would advise anyone who desires a cultural experience to take the time to tour it.
I have visited many temples in India. However, to see similar work in North America was awesome. The work, the funding, the dedication and the love for Indian culture made us feel home away from home. God bless those who are keeping Indian tradition alive all over the world. The prayer room and the carvings on marble and wood was truly inspiring and amazing. There is also a food court behind the temple that serves vegetarian homecooked Indian dishes to the visitors at a very reasonable price. The gift shop has some good Ayurveda and natural ingredients, incense, idols and books that may interest many visitiors. The volunteer guides are so friendly, knowledgeable and dedicated. A must see if you are in that area. Especially during the Aarti time. It is special, charismatic and divine to see how the idols are decorated and prayed to with devotion and love.
I've visited three times now. The first time we had no idea what to expect and found the volunteers to be welcoming and allowed us into the Mandir. The second time we attended an open house event and learned a lot about the construction, architecture, plans for growth, seva (volunteering), Hindu culture and social responsibility.Visit the Mandir after 4:30pm but don't miss the museum downstairs to learn about what you're seeing. It's an incredible place!
If you happen to be in the Chino Hills area and you are looking for a truly unique experience you definitely need to visit the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir! It is truly an amazing structure with an equally interesting history. I had the pleasure of a personal tour. Very interesting and enlightening! Well worth the visit!
A beautiful and intricate piece of art. Please remember to take off your shoes before entering the Mandir.
Visited India 23 years ago and today it brought the best memories back - Amazing place. Enjoy the visitor center and temple. Don't forget the small informative area under the temple. Interesting! .
I toured BAPS Temple yesterday and could not get over its beauty. The woodwork is so ornately carved and it was well worth it to go inside the Mandir as well (all white marble, in contrast to the pink stone outside). I sat in on the 11:15 am religious service (about 15 minutes long) and really enjoyed seeing everything inside. Tour guide Bhavir did a wonderful job, and Peter P. could not have been more friendly as a host. I believe you have to make an appointment online if you want a full tour, otherwise you can drive in and see the outside of the temple up-close, as well as the reception area. There is not a fee to come in, however, you can make donations during teh religious service or in the reception area. Just beautiful.
