We spent the afternoon here with our 2 and 4 year old grandchildren. What a nice place for children to visit! The animals are well-kept and their spaces look clean and well-shaded for the summer heat. Children can easily see the animals and feed some. Feeding carrots to the new giraffe is a favorite! There is a nice bounce house, but we did not do that today. The grounds are nicely landscaped. There is a little snack bar with covered tables overlooking a pond. This is a great place for CNY. Kudos to the owners!
We were pleasantly surprised with this animal park. We brought our 6 yr old and 4 yr old grandchildren here and had a lot of fun. We bought a large container of food to feed the animals as we entered and also the bounce house tickets for the kids. They have 5 bounce houses in the back near the food stand. We fed the animals off and on thru out the day. We saw them feed the tigers( one white and one regular colored) Very informative while they were feeding them. We also enjoyed the black bears. They have 2 covered pavilions back near the food stand. We spent about 4 1/2 hours here. It's not a regular zoo. It's an animal park. They have several areas where you can get a nice family photo with wood carvings that compliment the park. They have an area where you can rent a paddle boat for 10.00 for half an hour. Water and Soda was priced reasonable for 1.00 each. Bring sunblock if it's a nice day. And your camera to catch some really neat pics of you getting to interact with some of the animals. Like the camel and goats! Grandkids and us had fun alike! Will be back next year to see what they add to the park!
Was so pleasantly surprised at how wonderful this place was. They take wonderful care of the animals and thete is always something to do. Tons of animals to see... animal shows... bounce houses and so much more. Visit here! It will soon become one of your favorite places.
Although we only live a short distance away, this was our first opportunity to visit the Wild Animal Park. It was a perfect size with 2 small children (3 and 1). Animals appear to be well kept and they were easy for the kids to see. They loved feeding the goats and the giraffe (you can buy the food and carrots as you pay for your admission). There are plenty of wash up stations after feeding the animals. The bounce house area (an additional charge) is a great extra activity. There is a nice covered picnic area overlooking a small pond. The paths are dirt and can be bumpy so if pushing a stroller be prepared.

We have 2 grandchildren, ages 5 and 3 and took them to this zoo to see animals just this past weekend. This was our second visit because the first was such fun. The entrance fee is reasonable, you can touch some of the more docile animals and there's a bouncy house area for the kids to just enjoy in the middle of it all. We saw goats and fed them, miniature horse, donkey, camels, birds, aligators, deer, bears, tortoise and some others I cannot remember the names of. The kids played a while in the bounce house area and then we had a toasted cheese and hot dogs with cold juice and water in a nice covered eating area before exploring another area of the zoo. The zoo was a bit bigger than last year and the staff is always very friendly. We will go again next year!
Recently heard that this little gem was here. What a surprise to find something like this in a small upstate village. Perfect short day trip for anyone. They have some barnyard animals, which you would expect. However, I never expected to see bears, lions, tigers, gators, a leopard, camel and giraffe just to name a few. Each enclosure has a sign telling about the animals. All the animals appear healthy and happy. Such a wonderful assortment of animals to see without having to travel to a big city. Also have a "bouncy house area" for children and paddle boat rentals for a trip around the pond. Only two suggestions, a paper map of the grounds and would like to see the ponds in the enclosures with cleaner water. Perhaps some kind of a pump or filtration system just to keep it moving so it doesn't get green. Otherwise, loved the place and will take out of town visitors there for sure.
At this animal park you get an up close view of the featured animals. My nine year olds had a great time feeding the goats, donkeys, and giraffe. We watched the keeper interact with the lemurs, bears and leopard. We learned interesting facts during these interactions. I have never been to a zoo where you could actually see all the exhibited animals so well. It was bigger than we expected and well maintained. The animals looked well cared for and were in appropriate habitats. We were only there a few hours but a longer visit is likely needed with younger children. Overall a great experience. We will certainly go back.
We have visited The Wild a few times only being a short drive away. They have added a few new animals this year (Ostrich, Wolf, Giraffe). At $9.00 per adult and $8.00 per child over 2 (plus $4.00 at the Gate or $5.00 inside if they want to use the bounce houses) it's a bit overpriced for what it is. There is also a sign that says due to USDA Regulations you cannot bring in outside food items... I really don't think it is a USDA thing because Disney's Animal Kingdom allows you to bring in your own food items and so does the local County Zoo. This year we went for one of the Halloween events. Last year there were a lot of Trick or Treat stations set up. This year each kid got 2 tickets which they could exchange for a bag of candy with about 4 pieces in it at 2 different stations. The walkways are unpaved and with a stroller it can get a little bumpy. There are also only portapotties and no restrooms. The bounce house area is very damp and at least one of the bounce houses is in need of repair. They seem to treat the animals well and the zoo is growing, it's just overpriced for what it is.
My family loves visiting especially since its less than 10 minutes away. A great little animal park that brings people close to the animals, some which cant been seen anywhere else locally. My daughter loves petting the goats and feeding the Giraffe. They have excellent Tiger and Lion exhibits and are always adding new animals and expanding. If you want a fun afternoon in the summer take the trip to Chittenango its worth it.
