Even now looking at their web site makes me want to go there. We were excited to zip their 12 zip lines as advertised the drive from Helen would be short. We get there and no one is in the office so we wait. We wait 15 minutes and a girl who looks like she works there walks by, never said a word goes in the office. I follow but she is not there so I wait 5 minutes then go back outside. We see on their board that they have 7 zips for $75.00 but on the web site it looks like 12 zips for $75.00 which is why we are here. We wait a bit longer go in and pet the horses and a guy walks by so I ask him when someone will be in the office and he says he is going there now. We follow him in and a women with blond hair comes out and I ask her about the 12 zips I read about on their web site and she says they aren't built and that it is 7 zips for $75.00. She was very stern, rude and unenthusiastic so we left. So I don't know how their tour is but the service for us was awful.
Our daughters 12th birthday landed us at sunburst stables for a romp thru the woods on atv's. Our kids had never been on an atv, much less driven one. The staff was excellent teachers and provided a practice run in an arena before the tour. The honda 250cc was plenty for the type of riding we encountered. We rode past an animal farm, watched zipliners overhead and even rode thru an old gem mine where we picked up a bag of gems to sift thru. Toward the end of the tour, we stopped at a shed with flumes and sifted our dirt to find gemstones that we could keep. Our daughter said that was the best part of the tour. Thanks to everybody at Sunburst Stables for a fantastic birthday. Our daughter hasn't stopped talking about her gems she found.Highly recommended!
This is a great place for zip lining especially with kids that are too small for other places. This zipline can accommodate everyone. And its unique. The only zipline around that goes through a tunnel and a Water geyser. The flyboard experience is great. Cheapest price anywhere. And you can do it quickly and easy. Great place.
We visited this place guided by the positive reviews found at Trip Advisor. They were right. It was a first time zip lining for our family of 5 and we had an awesome time. The young fellows helping us through the zip lining tour were hilarious. They make us laugh all the way and there was not a boring moment. I would suggest to dress up appropriate specially if going during winter time, bring your own gloves, anyone with long hair need to have it in a bun, and definitely don't bring anything that can get tangle or could fall (keys, cell phones, money etc...) Great time, we recommend it 100%
We are so happy you enjoyed yourself. Good, Family FUN!
We went to Sunburst with a group and had a wonderful time! We went ziplining (through tunnels, past fountains, upside down=awesome!) and horseback riding after eating a picnic lunch we packed. They have picnic tables right out front and after lunch the kids were able to play with the many animals around (gentle cats & dogs roaming and pigs and rabbits in a pen). We loved that the minimum age for horses and ziplines was 7, so everyone could participate. We didn't have time to ride ATVs (minimum age to drive is 12, but younger can ride with an adult), but they looked fun too. Even driving to the zipline platforms was fun: they took us in these military jeep things and drove us past animals: llamas, pigs, emus, etc. and we fed them from our hands. The guides had us in stitches with their witty banter. Our kids were smiling from ear to ear all day. It isn't for those a strict budget ($75/pp per activity), but worth every penny. We will definitely be back!
We had and absolutely wonderful time at Sunburst Stables. My 14 year old boys and 11 year old girl thoroughly enjoyed the two hour zipline and 1.5 hour atv ride, especially since the boys were able to drive their own atvs. The staff is professional and entertaining, and the facility is fabulous. While we waited between tours, the kids were able to attempt to catch a piglet, play with bunnies and a guinea pig, and look around the farm. Tours are scheduled at 10 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm, and it is recommended that you call and make reservations (just let them know what you want to do, when you want to come, and how many in your party...no credit card number or deposit required). Prices are in range with similar activities in the area and discounts are given if you do more than one tour. The farm is only 15 minutes from Helen. The boys already want to go back and try the twilight zipline and ride the atvs again, the girl wants to horseback ride and is trying to attend summer camp at Sunburst next year!! We will definitely go back when we are in the area!
While on a weekend getaway in Helen my wife and I went on the 2 hr mountain ride. The terrain we very rough and there was no stop in between so it ended up being a continuous ride. The scenery was pretty since it is fall and the leaves are changing but there weren't any great views on the trail. The only thing that helped was we had a coupon for a discount from out cabin rental so we didn't pay full price. This would be something fun for a family as there are other things to do here but I'd stay away from the horseback riding.
The family really wanted to do a horse back ride while on vacation, and Sunburst stables provided us with an excellent ride. The guide was really friendly, the horse gentle, and the length just right! (we chose the 1 hour ride) I don't love riding horses, but mine was so easy to manage. The guide asked us if we wanted to try a trot, we did, but my husband's horse didn't really want to, so we went back to a walk, which was just fine with us! We saw deer, turkey, and of course other wild life. The old stills were interesting as well.During the same day, we also went zip lining. It was quite a thrill. They guides made it fun and safe. We tried the tricks, and I got soaked on the final zip (which I knew I would - so it was all good fun!). If we go back to Helen, we will DEFINETLY be going back to Sunburst Stables!A couple of notes - make a reservation ahead of time. Be there BEFORE your scheduled time. When we went, the guides let at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The first day we went, we arrived at 10:20 and the guides had already left. It was our fault, not the stables. But just be aware. Also, if you have longer than shoulder length hair and you are zip lining, make sure to put it up BEFORE you go. They have hair bands there, but you might want to put it in a low pony before you get there. (low pony since you have to wear a helmet)Thanks for a great day Sunburst Stables!
After being disappointed with another zip line operator in Helen a day before, we went to these guys. It was same price, they also honored a competitors discount coupon and the entire ride was full of thrills and fun all the way! They were true professionals. The staff polite, and had inculcated humour and jokes as "part of the package" making this a thoroughly enjoyable adventure. We had about 15+ people in our group from all walks of life and age; a six years old kid to a grandma of 75+ and they took proper care to cater every ones individual needs! We returned again for horse ride and enjoyed it too!Negative: All bathrooms were locked and we were directed to use the toilet of an almost abandoned mobile home a bit inside the ranch.
