Been here many times. Great place to walk dogs and for bird watching especially in the winter. Every aug they have a sandcastle completion which is very nice. The beach in summer is great for summer. The only drawback you now have to pay for parking except in winter. Washrooms are nice and clean but are closed in winter
Cobourg beach is a great getaway from the city and only about an hour away. concession stands hot dogs hamburgs etc.
While on a visit to Cobourg, we stopped by Victoria Park, which is a lovely park by the beachfront. If you are in town nearer to the Christams holidays, the park is filled with Christmas lights and decorations which are absolutely spectacular to see and walk amongst. It is beautiful and very special to see in person, so make sure to get out of the car and go for a walk. It feels enchanting and can be enjoyed by everyone, no matter what age.
This beach is in the hub of Cobourg adjacent to A beautiful harbour and marina. There is Victoria park for Rv camping , a playground, free waterpark, picnic area and Bandshell for entertainment in the park. The beach is groomed every morning to keep it clean. We travel thoisands of miles with our RV and always comment on the fact that we would travel hundreds of miles to visit this area. However it is right in our back yard!
So many people on the weekends. This use to be such a quiet beach when I was younger. It gained in popularity as time went on and the waterfront was made to be so amazing. The July first weekend is so popular, people travel over from the States to come to our waterfront festival! Bring lots of money with you for that weekend, they charge to get into everything where it used to be free. Is anything free anymore?
If you are passing by, it will be nice to get off the highway for a quick "pit stop" or sit back by the harbour and enjoy the seen to regain energy to continue your trip.
The Cobourg Beach gets very busy in the summertime, but considering it's not far from the city, it's a great escape.
I visited Victoria Park by Cobourg Beach in November and the display of lights was both charming and enjoyable. It is the perfect size for a small Canadian town, it is lovely to walk through, and it was able to get us in the holiday spirit. It is definitely worth it to visit after the sun sets with friends and family of all ages. There is, of course, no fee.
The beach is very large so lots of room to enjoy. Clean facilities and stores nearby.Even in the winter it is turned into a winter wonderland very nice place to visit.
Great quiet day unlike hot summer days as this is A GREAT LAKE ONTARIO beach Nice sand and extremely clean cold and I mean cold waterA must stop off 401
