My girlfriend and I booked Mike from a referral on our flight into Alaska and it was a great choice! We caught Dolly Varden, Trout and even though the Salmon weren't running all that well during the time we were there, we were the only ones catching them on flies! Not only was it a great fishing trip but he was also a fantastic teacher, he would help me with my form and taught me the importance of the "sweep". I walked out of there with fish and better fishermen. Thanks Chris
Mike took me and my dad out on a one day notice. This was the best part of our trip to Alaska. My dad and I had lake experience but river fishing for salmon was new too us and we had a blast. We could not of had ask more of out of the trip. Mike is a guy that anyone could get along with and have a blast with. If I ever go back to Alaska he is on my to do list.
Mike Adams, the owner, is a wonderful guide to some of the best fishing and beautiful scenery on the Kenai peninsula. We went on this trip a couple of years ago and gave a trip to our grandson the next year. We caught fish, saw wildlife (eagles/bears), and because our trip was in the fall saw some of the most beautiful autumn colors we have ever seen. Floating the river on a boat without a motor contributed to the serenity of the trip and a little fun when we came upon rapids. I would recommend this trip to anyone looking to experience the real Alaska. Added bonus is Mike cleans the fish. Many thanks to him for ensuring we had a wonderful experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Mike. He got us going at just the right time, and put us on a spot all to ourselves. We limited out on reds in no time at all and caught some dollies while he filleted our salmon. It is clear that he knows the river but more importantly on Kenai, he knows when and where the other guides will be. It was a real treat to not have to combat fish the Kenai!
Mike is just a perfect combination of gentlemen, scholar, fishing aficionado and wild man. I had no clue how to fly-fish, but now I can do it with confidence and most importantly with some RESULTS!We went with Mike on Sock-eye Salmon and Trout all day trip. He took us on upper Kenai all the way to the Skilak Lake. Surrounding is unbelievably beautiful (during July... I would not dare to go there during winter months) and fishing is great. Warmly recommended to beginners or professionals.
awesome experience. Mike was a true professional and we caught some great fish. Better my son and I had a trip of a lifetime.
Mike was fantastic. Very knowledgeable kind patient and overall just a very good teacher. He also has lots of patients for children and we got lots of fish!!!!!!!
Great adventure. Our guide and his dog were wonderful. We were novice fly fishermen who were taught and encouraged the whole time. My brother caught a 32 inch trout! I got a pretty big one too. Also, caught dolly varden, smaller trout and some darn ugly zombie humpies. You really need a guide for drift fishing. It was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend this outfit.
This was my first Alaskan fishing endeavor, and it's safe to say I will be back! I had no previous trout/salmon experience, nor had I ever used a fly rod. Mike's experience was evident and his teaching ability excellent! The trip flew by as Mike put me on my limit of sockeye plus countless trout all day long. An added bonus to the exceptional fishing is the beautiful scenery and wildlife you will see as you float down the Kenai. Counting down the days until my next trip!
My wife and I have fished with Mike Adams on 10 occasions. All on the Kenai River. On each trip we caught a great number of fish and some really big fish. Mike is energetic, knowledgeable, professional and very patient. He has a passion for catching fish and just being on the River. I highly recommend Mike for seasoned veteran fishermen and women as well as novices and beginners. Mike is a great instructor and can help you improve your fishing technique. Without a doubt, Mike is the best guide we have fished with.
