Stunning white sand crescent shaped beach, shallow in one area for children deeper in another for swimming. Fish in abundance which swim around you feet. Resturants and cafes nearby this an idyllic place for a family holiday particularly if you have a caravan. Fishing trips and sail boat trips can be arranged, you have to be really unlucky not to catch something.
Alothough it took us 2 days to get there (we stopped in Carnarvon), the sheer beauty of Coral Bay makes it worthwhile. The beach is breath taking, and we spent many days on the beach. It was a bit windy during our visit but it was hardly a deterrent. We also enjoyed snorkelling the inner reefs, truely an amazing sight.
The beach is awesome with white sand and stunning blue water. Coral bay itself is only a small backpacker place where you should only stay if you are a backpacker lover...
On this beach there is something for anyone in a family. Great safe snorkeling directly from the beach, corals, boat trips (even though they are on the expensive side) within a walking distance from all accommodation. Don't miss the sunset viewing platform!
Coral Bay sounds totally magical whenever described, however when i finally got to go there last year, it saddened me to see how the hundreds of boats and careless people have damaged such a wonderful place. The once vibrant coral is now dull and brown. Fish are scarce, and the throngs of people make it less relaxing and serene and more crazy and stressful. Despite this disappointment, there are some amazing things to do. I would highly recommend swimming the Whale Sharks or Manta Rays, as these are both experiences that you will never forget. About 100km north, though, is a place called Cape Range, a national park with camping facilities that is yet to be ruined by human impact. The most amazing snorkelling i have ever experiences was here, at a beach names Oyster Stacks, be sure to check it out but please be respectful and don't damage the coral by breaking, touching, or standing on it.
Please don't let your family feed popcorn to the fish, it can kill them. Fabulous place, could do with a few more shades though
We absolutely loved Coral Bay Beach. We have been to Queensland and did the Reef tours several times and it was wonderful but this is so much better for us. All we do is walk from our cabin 200 metres get in the water and snorkel. No need for a boat. We can go as often as we want which is twice a day and no fee. Is a very tiny place so relaxing and snorkelling are the main attractions here and that's just the way we like it. The shallow beach is perfect for children too.
Brilliant place to swim.Warm, azure water, no current, with loads of fish close to you as you swim. What more can you ask for.
Something you would see in the movies, the water cascades from clear to darker blues teaming with sea life. The beach itself has adequate shelters and facilities close by. Not much more can be said about this but check it out if you are heading north
The beach is stunning and un spoilt, white sands and clear blue sea. if you walk along the bay you can see reef sharks as the tide is coming in. very peaceful beach.
