We visit the orchard each year on our fall trip. You are able to buy and sample numerous apples while here. My husband tried the Ambrosia Apple while here at which time we purchased a bag. They are crisp and sweet just as the sign read. We bought these a week ago and only have 3 left! Even our daughter that usually eats the Granny Smith loves them. Of course, we bought a bag of those for her, too. My husband enjoyed the fresh apple pie while I enjoyed filling up my buggy with relish, jellies and apples! We look forward to our next trip!
This is a wonderful day trip to enjoy the ride up there and pick up some apples for making apple butter and their cold apple cider is wonderful. Candy shop has wrapped candy that is still soft from being fresh most places is so hard from age you have to suck on it before chewing. Love, love, love the nougat candy and Mary Janes. Now for the restaurant, I can only speak of what I ate and that was the hamburger and cole slaw.....YUK!!!!, the hamburger ( I refer to the meat) was either pre cooked and reheated or just nasty tasting on its own and the coleslaw was cabbage and onions with the pre-dominate taste of onions. When I write a review it is my honest opinion and it is not to bash a business but hoping to help them as well as help others avoid the same mistake I made, however everyone is going to have a different take on things so please read review as such. As I said it is a wonderful day trip so I incourage you to go but I would skip the restaurant.
you must get some of the most wonderful apples, jellies, honey, dressings, and local produce also at good prices. I did alot of Christmas shopping there, neat unusual store in a beautiful part of TN.
We purchased fresh apples, peaches, and tomatoes and immediately ate tem for lunch - delish! We also got a selection of canned products - largest selection I've ever seen. We're looking forward to tasting those!
The food is good, the service is fast. You get fried apple fritters with every meal and a small glass of apple cider. The store has a large selection of apples, and vegetables also jams and honey. The candystory is interesting and the fried pies are good. Every time we are in town we visit here.
This was such a cool place to go. We drove the back roads to get there, which was a treat in itself. This is a working apple farm. I only wish they would let visitors pick their own. The fried apple pies are to die for. They were like the ones my mom cooked for us when we were small. With so many choices of apples to choose from, it was not an easy task to decide which to bring home. Would definately go back. Also, you might want to try the muscadine cider. Very tasty !
Wonderful! Over the top delicious! Huge portions!! Great service! The apple cider is wonderful as well!!!
The farm market is very good. The majority of their produce is local and seasonal. They do not have the selection that the ones in big cities have, but their selection is fresh and home grown. I go there quite often. I read a few negative reviews on here. Two were were reviewing the restaurant, not the store. One didn't like the people. but it is probably their own attitude. The workers have always been nice to me and are very helpful. I go there to look, to see what they have in, not to purchase a certain item, except for the pepper jelly, which is awesome! The Carver orchard grows all of the apples they sell. In season, they are great!
I stopped here with friends after hiking to Mt Cammerer. The food was excellent. There is a great produce market, candy and gifts.
We passed Carver Apple Orchard during harvest season and stopped on a whim. We enjoyed watching the apples being sorted and cleaned. In addition to fresh apples, they had lots of other produce, including some huge green tomatoes. The fried pies are a local favorite and you should really try one. We continued down the road with some tasty apples, apple butter and some cider.
