We were spending a weekend in Cottonwood and visited Alcantara as part of a 3 winery tour.We took a tour of the estate and operation and then a tasting. This is a beautiful little operation that was very friendly. We enjoyed the wines and purchased a case to bring home. The staff was very friendly and the estate was very, very relaxing. It was be a wonderful place for a small reception or a company party.
Alcantara is wonderful. This is our 3rd visit and it was as good as the 1st and 2nd visit. This time we were there at the time they were hosting an event for the Sedona Arts Festival. We had an awesome time and we bought a marvelous art work by Michael Chesley Johnson. His painting was of the Alcantara vi dry and so well depicted.
Recently visited here on a trip to Phoenix (though it is about 90 minutes from Phoenix). The place is absolutely beautiful and intimate. Tasted 5 different wines, and enjoyed a little of the little plates of cheese, olives, bread and antipasto. My husband and I dined outside on the patio and had a lovely afternoon. They are a dog friendly vineyard and have a big gorgeous dog named Charlie Brown that will undoubtedly come and say hello if you visit.
We very much enjoyed our wine-tasting at this out-of-the-way winery. Comfortable, homey tasting room. Knowledgeable friendly staff pouring our wine. Great view from the back patio! Shop with lots of gifts and souvenirs. We will certainly visit again next time we are in the area.
Enjoyed our meat/cheese platter and wine tasting. Lovely to sit on deck overlooking the back of the vineyard. Was surprised, though that Martha Stewart called this a wedding destination. There wasn't much, other than an arch. I sure wouldn't want a wedding there!
Very relaxed place to sit and taste some fine wines. Was an excellent day, so we sat out on the patio to enjoy the weather, the views of the vineyards and property, and some very good wines. Staff knows their stuff, and made sure our glasses were filled. No sales pressure, and always willing to stop and chat to answer questions. We really enjoyed their 2013 Chenin Blanc.Tastings cost $10 for 5 tastes.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Nice selection of reds and whites. And a friendly chocolate lab named Charlie Brown.
Enjoyed the tasting room, very nice and full of atmosphere. Wine was good! Grapes grown on the property. One felt as if they were somewhere in Italy.....
Nice grounds and drive in, as long as you don't drive into the RV park by accident. After parking you will be greeted by dogs, cats, all who are welcome in the tasting room. Following this, you will be met with un educated staff who claim their wine is cloudy due to the terrain after slamming down bottles, glasses, and anything else they can't seem to delicately hold onto with their hands. The wine will be described to you with the worst pronounciation leaving you wondering why you just paid ten dollars for a glass.
