Best Views of any winery we've visited so far in Virginia.Patio overlooks hills of grapes and 8 mountain peaks. The owners are super friendly and the wine is good.Romantic spot for a sunset picnic.
This place is simply wonderful. A little gem of a tasting room, pretty and welcoming, if small, and really nice tasting associates that are willing to help and advise, but also willing to give you the time and privacy to discuss each wine as you taste. I don't even much like chardonnay, but theirs is absolutely terrific. The views from the patio are gorgeous and the nearby garden in the summer is really stunning. I've been to about 80 wineries to date and this is one of my very favorites. Highly recommended.
My girlfriend and I went on a wine tour and Stinson was first on our stop. It was the best wine from the four wineries we visited that day. The customer service was outstanding and we fell in love with the wine so much that we became wine club members. The views are great too - not as awesome as Grace Estate but the wine and service is definitely better. It's a little hole in the wall and I will definitely be back next time I'm in town.
Wines are very good, friendly staff, nice location. They also sell interesting uncooked meats, and have green egg and reg grills for cooking there. Beautiful view.
This winery has beautiful views from their tasting room and is well worth the visit. The tasting room is light, airy, crisp, and clean with reclaimed decor that is tasteful. We enjoyed the wines, the view, and the service. Friendly, down to earth staff who are knowledgable about their wines will pour for you and make you feel welcome. Check it out if you are in the area!
Cozy and nice. Wines are above average. We go there occasionally. In the heart of wine country in Crozet, VA. If in the area you must stop. Highly recommended.
We wanted to visit Stinson Vineyard so that we could check out the concrete egg that they put their white wines in. PHENOMENAL views. We stood outside for at least 10 minutes, just enjoying the view and taking some photos. Walking up to the tasting room, there is a great outdoor area with comfy looking couches and small seating areas for enjoying a glass of wine. We walked into the tasting area, great rustic/contemporary decor. We were greeted by some very friendly and knowledgeable employees. The tasting was about $5 for about 8-10 tastings, including a port. You can purchase their logo glass for $5. What a pleasant surprise! The wines were almost all spectacular -- especially their Meritage. Meritage is a very common wine down in VA and this was THE BEST one we tried all weekend. Great location for a picnic and enjoy a glass of wine.
We did visit on a Saturday and so knew it might be crowded. The staff made sure to acknowledge we were waiting and thanked us for being understanding. The tasting was excellent and we were encourage to re-take before we purchased bottles - we like their consideration. The Merlot was excellent and we learned about Meritage.
We actually shot video because pictures couldn't capture it. This is a very small place, housed in a converted three car garage (I know, doesn't sound so picturesque but go in - taste - then sit on the patio outside in the many comfy seating areas, and prepare to be awed!) this was the first stop in our 4 day trip, so I waited till we had seen everything we planned to see and this stop is still in the top two! We were the only tasters at first, but several other groups arrived and we were all efficiently and smoothly served. The neat thing here is they also sell a variety of meats, cheeses and snacks. We loved the wine and also purchased a glass to sip while snacking on the patio. On the plus side, even with the amazing views all around there is paved road all the way here. Give this place a stop if you're in the area - we loved it!
Over three days and 10 different wineries, this was my absolute favorite. Don't let the size of this place fool you. With wonderful wine, hospitality and a very educated staff I will certainly be returning. The owner took part in the education on the winery and even shared a special wine made for his daughter's wedding. Purchased 7 bottles of amazing.
