Besides loving their wines, we enjoyed an afternoon sitting amongst the vines and listening to the live music. Very relaxing.
Love this vineyard and its casual ambiance. We've tasted the wines here several times and always take friends who are visiting from out of town.
We didn't really enjoy our time here because it was busy with two bridesmaids groups. It was packed. We waited a good 15 min to be able to start tasting then it took almost an hour to try 8 wines.
The wine was quite nice, I was a bit skeptical because we lived in San Francisco & spent a lot of time in the wine country and wasn't sure about Georgia wines; but they had some lovely choices. The wedding was beautiful & where they have their deck situated, the changing light during the reception & sunset were absolutely gorgeous. Our only complaint is that it got really cool when the sun went down and they only had three out door heaters for their huge deck and we were cold and so was a lot of the wedding party dressed in their sleeveless dresses !!! I would think for a venue that does a lot of weddings, they would have had the heaters all over the out door deck for the comfort of all. My only negative is that issue and that is certainly easy to fix ... would most definitely go back.
We got there early afternoon and simply enjoyed a glass of wine sitting in rocking chairs on the deck listening to live Jazz music....what more could you want??? Oh yes and the view is the best of the wineries we visited. we opted not to do a tasting as it was crowded but they didn't mind and neither did we!
Only winery in area open seven days a week.Pleasant hostess and wine was very good, and i am very picky!
This past weekend, to celebrate our anniversary my husband and I were going to spend the day sampling wines in North Georgia mountains.. This was our first stop.. when we arrived there seemed to be only two other couples, the tasting room was empty, we didnt know where to go... soon a young lady arrived and announced tastings were 10.00 for 8...and although it states on the website for this price you also get to keep your glasses, on this day they were not giving you the glass.. first bummer, as I wanted to keep for the special occasion.. suddenly four other couples arrived and she seemed truly overwhelmed.. we had to wait and wait for our next wine, just felt like I was "putting her off".. there were not crackers or anything supplied to clean the palate between white to red wines, really a bummer.... the view is one of the best, but I was not impressed with any of the wines.. luckily for blackstock, someone on staff hired two older gentleman to play harmonica and guitar out of the deck, was truly the saving grace, a glass of wine later I did at least get to hear them perform "our song" which made my day.. we left right after.. I dont think Ill be back, must work on the warm and fuzzy as this is not napa valley and the other winery's in this area have a much warmer feel, the want you to stay and sit a while...
We've been to two events here and both times staff was snotty. The wedding was beautiful BUT the staff treated guests in a condescending manner. Wine was just ok. I prefer a sweet wine and no after taste and it disappointed on both of those.
We went on a beautiful afternoon to enjoy the music and scenery. When we tried to order a bottle of wine we were told that when they have music you can only have wine by the glass. When I asked the reason he said because they make more money that. way. So $8.00 for a glass and $21.00 for a bottle. This is a winery and you should be able to buy a bottle. We had 1 glass and went to Frogtown where the view is great and a much prettier place. They really need to change this policy. Also Frogtown has a much larger selection of wine to pick from and a good food selection.
Wine was good wish we could have stayed longer. This was the 2nd or 3rd best on the wine trail
