We were looking for a day trip that was close to home and happened upon Consolidated. We took the whole family - kids from 6 to 21 - and were pleasantly surprised when we got there. The tour was very interesting and informative and our guide Precious was very fun! We loved panning and came home with gold flakes and gems. We really enjoyed the experience and look forward to them possibly expanding the tour deeper into the mine. A very fun family field trip!
We took the tour with members of my family that came to town. Fun and informative for all ages. Tour is easy and accessible for everyone and very informative. The miners are great tour guides.
Loved the tour with our very knowledgeable guide. And we actually found a few little pieces of gold in our pans. This was lots of fun and very informative. A perfect destination for anyone with gold fever!Stop in at the Dahlonega Visitors Center in town and get discount tickets.
Took my family for my son's 8th birthday. Wasn't expecting to go on the tour, but decided to once we got there....totally glad we did. Miner Nolan was awesome and kept the tour informative and fun at the same time. Was hoping to find more gold in our pans but the kiddos still had fun with the experience.Store was well priced with some interesting finds. The whole staff took the extra time to make my son feel special on his birthday. He already wants to go back!
This is an old gold mine just outside Dahlonega. They have tours down into the old mine and you can even pan for gold. The kids will love it.
The guide he was the best at his knowledge about the Mines and the history very helpful with question very vibrant personality and funny the people in the gift shop and the panning place was so nice and helpful and SMART about knowing the gems and just down right GOOD PEOPLE
Loved this place. Decided to visit here after going to the museum (recommend visiting the museum first, just to get the back story). This place didn't disappoint. The mine was amazing. Our tour guide said they are working to get the entire top level of the mine open for tours..which would be about a 4 mile trek. Can't waif for this!
We had a great time as a family. Traveled with kids ages 9-6, and one grandparent. The guide was great. The kids learned tons. The gold panning was fun, but bring a change of clothes for little ones. Ours dumped half the pan down the front of their shirt.
Overall it was a fun place to visit. The tour was entertaining. The panning was fun. Best was stopping in the Gem Shop and chatting with Miner Mike.
This is a must see for your family. It's a great place to take your kids or grand kids. You can pan for gold or gem stones. It has a mine tour in a real gold mind. Also a nice gift shop. I think you will enjoy it. You can't do this every place.
