Today I spent an enjoyable couple of hours in the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. My husband a I bought the general admission and were happy with what that offered, spending over four hours in the museum. I especially liked the panoramas and the space exhibit with the floating planet. I felt the text in all exhibits was done perfectly, with short bites of information that were fun and easy to digest. I also loved seeing how engaged all the kids around us were too, and the families outside in the park using the show for sledding or snowmen. Overall, a decently priced museum for everyone to enjoy.
The food court at this museum is the best! Very healthy but still kid-friendly. We love all the exhibits and the IMAX.
Staff, cleanliness and everything about our visit was a success! We have only good things to say about our visit.
We came to Denver to see friends and ski. We had two days on the other end to explore the city so we took our 8 year old to the museum. We only had about 2 hours there but it was awesome. She and my husband loved the space exhibit, the views of downtown, and the whales exhibit. We have a pass to the cincy museum center so our admission was free. I'd definitely pay to get in if we had to! We will make it a point to visit next time!
Right up there with the great Smithsonian in terms of the dinosaur and mineral exhibits, and the dioramas are works of art,not to be missed. The Imax theater is always showing several wonderful movies each day, and the food in the restaurant is pretty good as well. It's our favorite place to take visitors
The special exhibits are always well done, interesting, change often and bring one back time and again. The inter-active human exhibit if fun for the whole family. Parking can be an issue, but keep looking. IMax and a planetarium are also available if one is inclined.
While not on the level of the Met in NYC, or some of the other bigger city museums, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science is the best museum in the Rocky Mountain region. They have a great IMAX and always have some traveling exhibit. The permanent dinosaur exhibit is one of the best anywhere. Also, the space exhibit is really fun and has a lot of hands on activities. You can spend a couple of days in the museum and not see everything. They are active in the community, hosting sleep overs for the local schools, and are very kid friendly. If you need an indoor activity while visiting Denver, I would highly recommend a day at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science
this is a wonderful exhibit. All about the travel and trade along the wayWell done but too short. I wanted more. Also the food in the cafe was not bad. I had a lamb burger. First one for me. I liked the spices that were use. Good chip too
This museum is the best they have everything in there. The kids liked all the exhibits especially the animals. The food court in there is high priced so eat before you come. It's not that great either. Not $12 for a hamburger. Yikes!!!
My grandson (5 yrs old) loves this museum. Every time I come to Denver to visit him, he insists on going to the museum. I gave him the choice of the museum or the Sponge Bob movie or the museum. Without missing a beat opted for the museum. He is very familiar with the museum since he has been visiting on a regular basis since he was two.If you want to do it right, plan on spending the majority of the day. They have a great IMAX theater, an outstanding space exhibit, one of the best dinosaur exhibits I have seen an interesting healthy body exhibit. For children, the Discovery Zone is a must. A vast majority of the exhibits are hands which is a great learning tool for children and adults alike. The environment is totally family friendly. The staff is very visible and quite helpful and friendly. This facility is very community responsible, and provides free admission to military personal with proper ID. The museum is a must destination.
