You've got to see this. Some of the most amazing coastline probably in the world! Take a ride down the Pacific Coast Highway and be sure to stop and visit Big Sur. The Pacific coast highway provides plenty of places to stop and view the coast. This is one of the very best places to stop and take in the beauty of God's handiwork! Amazing!
Wind in your hair, overlooking the amazing cliffs and wild sea waves. It gave me a fantastic feeling. The green grass and blue sea make the combination the best
I walked through woods. crossing paths with Monarch butterflies that swoop like birds and into a clearing where young people were camping. Past that, I followed a large stream running through the trees until I reached an inlet with a big sandbar. Beyond that, champion, serious surfers were tubing through giant waves. Behind an outlying cliff, I saw a large colony of cormorants--a city of birds.
We stumbled upon this park while driving through Big Sur and it was so beautiful. Words and pictures do not do Big Sur justice. We hiked up a waterfall which brought us to a small pool where people were hanging out, sunbathing, eating lunch and drinking beers. There is another waterfall above the small pool where you can hike and jump off of it into the water below. The water was FREEZING but overall it was just a gorgeous and peaceful place.
A lovely park full of beautiful waterfalls, stunning cliffs and oodles of seals. Stunning views of the ocean and great bush walks. Make sure you check out Pfeiffer Beach and its lovely purple sand.
This park is a must see when traveling Route Highway 1 from San Luis Obispo to Monterey. Pieffer beach is must see along with all the valleys and other hikes there are at the park. Just in the main entrance up a little hike is a breath taking view of the valley and a little ways down is a nice little waterfall. If you are thinking about camping in the warmer months be sure to plan ahead and make camping reservations. On the weekends the sites fill up fast and even though there are sites that don't require reservations those go pretty quick. During the week more sites seem to be available and you will probably be able to get a site. But this is one trip that must be done if you get the chance.
Very convenient location. We hiked the Mount Manuel Trail, with an elevation gain of 3,400' and a total length of 8 miles up the hill and then back down. Fantastic views all the way to the top, including fog shrouded hills and the Pacific Ocean. You may want to wear long sleeves and trousers, as a stretch of the trail involves moving through branches & brush that will give you some severe scratches if not careful. Took us 3 hours to go up and only 1.5 on the way down. You will be rewarded for your effort. $10 to enter the park.
这个州立公园是收费的 在停车场有一个收费的箱子 可以投币也可以投支票 全凭自觉走进去之后不远可以看到那个直接落到海里的瀑布 是一条挺好的徒步线路 公园的地点就在大苏尔附近的路上
This park is a must while driving through Big Sur. There are several hikes you can take that take you to the top of mountains overlooking the valleys and through the red woods. It's just incredible. Each turn brings you to a new part of the park that takes your breath away. You can also take a path to Pfeiffer falls which is quite beautiful. It costs $10 per car to park for the day but once you pay that you can go to all the other parks in the area in that same day.
This was an absolutely fabulous drive and trip! From Oklahoma, we intentionally drove westward then a little north in order to get to San Francisco. This allowed us to drive southward so that our highway lane was closest to the ocean. We plan to drive it again and to drive more of the Cabrillo Hwy/Hwy 1 again soon. We want to travel further south as well as travel northward from San Francisco.
