We just turned up to the Ranch and were lucky, the wait was only 30 mins, we went on an hour hack with our guide. My husband and I are really novice riders, our daughter more experienced, all this is taken into account when selecting your horse.Very professional and safety concerned. You have the option of a saddle bag for water, camera, sun screen. The trek is comfortable and the horses know every inch of the trail so I felt comfortable. Half way through there is an opportunity for photos.Overall a great, fun experience. Very friendly and thoughtful owners.
I was at the Stables last Oct with two of my friends, we are gals over 50, I am a experienced rider my friends are vacation riders, we went out on the half day ride and had a wonderful time, our guide was wonderful and kept us safe. The horses were great and very well cared for, this place is clean and all the employes treated us with respect. I thought the price for the ride was VERY fair and gave our guide a well deserved tip! I would recommend Baldwin Stables and I would go back. One thing I noticed that this stable feeds their horses hay, not pellets, It is expensive to have hay brought up the mountain, this shows you how well taken care of these horse are
Finished off the weekend at these stables so the kids can have a pony ride. They loved that and the pony Pearl. Their pony guide was a really cool guy, talked to the kids alot and helped us take great photos of them. The petting zoo was a bonus. Great for very small kids, otherwise i think older kids might think it's a bit small. Good time.
dropped off the 2 -10 year olds for an hour of horseback riding. Staff was friendly and the girls were off and back on time. They had a great time.
This place was run down, they lied to my and my gf and then ended up taking our money and Never refunded us for changing our mind. The actual staff and even the Owner were impatient and especially rude.. Please beware, and stay away from this place, it's a rip off !
Experienced staff and well cared for horses made this a fun experience for both novice and experienced riders. We started out with a beautiful morning, but 30 minutes in to our ride the weather turned ugly and we were caught out on the trail with thunder, lightening and HAIL. The staff handled professionally with the group's safety as their primary concern. Trucks were sent out to retrieve us while our guides walked the horses back through the terrible weather. We were disappointed our ride was cut short, but we will definitely try again next time we are in Big Bear.
If you want to go on an actual ride you need to go for at least two hours. From the stables it takes 30 min to get to the trails. The trails are in the nearby state park. The 3hr ride was perfect. I am experienced but my wife not so much but she still really enjoyed the ride. The rides takes you through some awesome views especially one point was breathtaking. Our guide was Christine and was very nice. Other staff not overly friendly but not many in California really are.
Although, having little to no hours behind the wheel of a horse, the gals made it easy my gal and me, and thankfully the horses cooperated. Nice scenery and not too steep We opted for the helmets, being self employed and all.
This is a great horseback riding tour for families, especially for beginners. The horses are gentle, the guides know the horses well and are very friendly. I would recommend this tour when visiting Big Bear.
$40 per person 1hr ride. The ride was decent, the horses were good and the guides knew what they were doing. It just chaps me when a place puts big signs everywhere trying to put the burden on you to pay their employees. @ $160 for 4 people for a 1hr ride I would think they could find some extra in there to pay their help.
