Looking for a day away from the hot sun? Take the family for some iceskating fun. In the summer there is a live skating show every night at 6:30. We went early and had dinner right there next to the rink so when the show started, we had front row seats! Then after the show you and your family can skate for two hours for just $8 pp. Do you have two left feet? No worries they have "walkers" that you hold onto so that you can skate too!
The Ice Show which is free was amazing. 30 minutes of pure entertainment. You can enjoy dinner ring side or just stand and enjoy.
it was fun and they do an ice show every night The kids loved it and it had a snack bar right outside the rink. plenty to do here.
Worth going to. Cute show plus it's free. My daughter looks forward to going every year. This year was better then in the past
We did not ice skate, but went to the daily ice skating show (6:30pm daily during the in-season). It is free. We got there 15 minutes early and had front row "seats" (most spots to see are against the fence surrounding the rink, not actually seats). The show is a full half hour and the stars were at a table after the show for pictures and they gave out personalized photos of them autographed by all of them. I am SO glad we spent a rainy evening checking it out. The stars were very talented, in-sync with each other, and very professional. Everyone who stays in the area should go! We found a parking spot on the side street very easily.
It is a small ice skating rink but I give it 4 out of 5 because it is the only hotel in OC with a rink and a free ice skating show
If you get there at the right time of the year you can see a free ice show. Normally teenagers but, a very good show.
My kids loved it! There were so many indoor activities for them to do. I really like the rooms with the indoor balcony overlooking the rink & I loved the beach action too!
We knew the rink was going to be small at the Carousel, but it's really small. In addition, half of the ice remained wet because they couldn't keep it cold enough. It was hard to skate on and if you fell, you'd surely get wet. I felt bad for the people in the ice show because it's hard to perform on such a small rink, but with soft (slow) ice, its even harder. Spins are nearly impossible... they were troopers though and kept up the show! The upside was that the price was very reasonable. $4 if you were staying at the Carousel, $5 if you weren't. The rental skates looked pretty bad, so bring your own.
