Not one for modern art but decided to go. One exhibition, free hand sketches, quite interesting.Took a couple of hours to view all
they usually have interesting and quality exhibitions, really worth visiting. but be sure it is according to your taste, as it has no (as far as I remember) standard show...
went in and saw price of admission, and left 15.00!! are you crazy!! for a modern art museum. No wonder noone, NOONE was inside
If you want to see what Eastern Central European artists are up to this is the place to visit. The curators do a good job of selecting and displaying the art work.
Surprisingly good exhibitions for a Gallery in the east of Hungary. Saw an impressive modern chinese art collection, straight from the Biennale in Venice. Keep on the good work!
The museum has only temporary exhibitions. At the time we visited (on a rainy Saturday), the building was desolate. Otherwise, nice works displayed, defo worth a short visit if you're in Debrecen but try to join a guided tour (I'm not sure they have tours in English though) so as to get a better understanding of the artworks.
This is a venue for special exhibits. We have never been disappointed in them. We have seen socialist realism, Da Vinci, and Hungarian drawings, all well-curated and thought-provoking.
This displays modern and contemporary art in a vivid way, and it is great for children as there are lots of things for them to do.
