Me and my husband went to the hand and stone in wilmington, Delaware for valentine's day for the first time and the experience was average. We were gonna get the couples message but they wanted to charge us an extra 20 dollars so I decided to get separate messages and facials at the introductory price of 49.95 each. We we arrived the place wasnt a salon at all just rows of rooms with employees standing around. The facials were good but they charge extra for any extra recommendationns they suggest, which I didnt understand, then the body messages could have been better as the person I had acted like he was scared to touch me, I barely felt any pressure at all. It felt more like a rub down and he didnt focus on my achy spots. All of the messagers look like new graduates and the rooms aren't even aromatherapy. At the end of our sessions they tried to sell us these pricy facial cleaners and a membership that would cost us 100 a month! I declined both as they informed us that our next visit the services would be about 90 dollars!! How insane and overpriced for average service, go elsewhere for a better experience as we will not be returning to hand and stone.
I have been to a few different membership bases massage places but am the most pleased with hand and stone. Love my massage therapist! This is a great place to go relax!
I was experiencing lower back pain and my regular therapist was off at the location I visit near home. So I had my son drive me there since the introductory offer was enticing. I did enjoy my massage but I was asked about problem areas before massage...unfortunately more time was spent on my neck and arms. I also inquired about a deep tissue massage and decided to have that done and was told that it was literally a dollar or 2 more...it was 10 more. No biggie but if your not sure you should ask. It was ok but I'm not sure I would return.
This was my first massage at Hand & Stone. I received this as a gift for Christmas from my children. I made my appointment for 9-6-13. My massage therapist was Sasha, I had the hot stone massage which was lovely, I later booked waxing I had to leave and come back but well worth it.
1st time at hand and stone. The facial was great. It was incredibly relaxing. The massage was average. I was asked about trouble spots but I feel as though they were not concentrated on. The massage therapist was a bit heavy handed at times.
Perviously, I received a facial at the same location and I did not have any problems, so I figured before my work party I would get another facial. This was a huge mistake!!! The next day the skin around my mouth was very dry, then the next day I saw that I had a rash all over my face. The worker knew I have sensitive skin but it seems like she did not take that into consideration since I have a rash on my face. This is the last time I receive a facial there.I am glad that I cancelled the membership since I do not want to go back here every again. It is unfair that I have to pay for an extra month to a place that has caused my face to become extremely irritated!!!
I was given a gift card for a facial, 80 minute massage and foot treatment for Christmas. I used the facial separately from the massage and love it. MIT was an hour and very relaxing. The massage was amazing...I actually fell asleep. I would hill recommend this establishment.
I've been getting massages for many years and have never had such a poor experience at any salon. Prices were high, wouldn't use any aroma therapy, told me that costs extra, extremely unhappy with service and treatment.
Hand and stone is known for their pricey spa packages and making you sign up for monthly payments in order to keep the massage price at $49. If you don't sign up monthly, massages will be $89 the next time you come in. Lisa gave me a wonderful standard massage and the music was very peaceful. She also made sure that I was covered properly when massaging different areas of the body.
I've been going to an overpriced salon in center city for about two years now and was sick of spending my hard earned money on sub par services. Decided to try this place out, as it is a rather large set of chain spas. Loved it. Not overpriced but well worth the money you spend in both traditional Swedish massages and facial services that I have received there. Can't wait to try my first hot stone massage next month.
