A great course that offers a good round of golf and is very reasonably priced, Little Mountain is near the Henry County line off of Hwy 155
Nothing to dislike about this course except, perhaps, that in this setting, $20 for nine seems a bit much. 18 costs $26, which is quite reasonable. The course is about 30 minutes from Decatur and at the wrong time of day, getting there can be a hassle. In any case, there's an 18 hole course and a 9 hole layout. The nines can be combined. It isn't an easy course, but reasonable. It is quite hilly. My wife and I play there with friends once a week and have always enjoyed it.
This quiet, clean, well-run little course sits out on a mountain side nestled at the county lines of Henry and Dekalb. It is very laid back atmosphere, masking a fairly tough couple of courses. All the locals know each other and make you feel welcome to play. Gene is our perennial favorite, and always has a smile waiting. This is a great sneak-away-to-play place...I call it a good day when I find as many balls as I lose...
Little Mountain Golf Course gave me a choice that I appreciated. I could play a 9-hole or 18-hole course! The name suggested a hilly or mountainous course, but I was pressed for time on the day that I visited, so I took the 9-hole option for a reasonable fee which included the golf cart. I was so pleased with the course and the amount of time it took to play, that I stopped in to talk with club house staff, including the resident Pro. Not only did I return to play the 18-hole course, I picked up a nice putter for a good price! The 18-hole course is quite hilly, and you could end up losing a few golf balls in the water. Little Mountain has less trees than other courses I have visited. I guess the name comes from a scenic, granite hill that can be seen at a distance, but it does not come into play.
Nothing special about it, the club house definitely needs a major make-over. The course is average, but reasonably priced.
