on the edge of the centre and fairly well sign posted but not really any wow factor. Old ridge which people still walk on, in built up area by a road but hardly the Mostar bridge..
On my last day, I dipped into the travel book and was prompted to search this bridge out. It wasn’t difficult to find, and it was fascinating. In a city that has so little original architecture and building, it was a treat to find something truly ancient. And being juxtaposed to the brand new, and the Hoxha buildings – it made an interesting picture in the evening sun!
Technically there is not much to this stone bridge that dates back to the ottoman times but if you are a history person, then surely you can visit the place for its history value. But I my opinion even that is not as alluring as it should be as this was just a bridge that used to see heavy traffic. The bridge seemed to be in need of restoration and right now with everything around it overshadowing the place. There is not much that highlights or helps its position.
A little stone bridge, that no longer seems to cross over anything. It seems a little out of place now, with major roads just around it. It did make a useful shortcut, however. It isn't specifically lit at night, but there is enough surrounding streetlight to cross safely without falling off.
very interesting bridge made by stone located in not a very attractive position, it is situated in the end of Murat Toptani street, it may be some times bad smell near especially during summer
Small random bridge surrounded by a modern concrete much larger one and by a restaurant. If for some reason its only a 5 minutes walk from your hotel, go and see it. Otherwise, no reason to go there.
this little bridge looks great in the photos in brochures but the area right next to it is very run down and shows little respect for this beautiful little historic bridge
this is one where you have to look for the signs to find it, but once you find it, its a piece of history still surviving in a modern city.
The Tanners Bridge was probably beautiful in its day. Actually, it was definitely beautiful. And it still is. But it is about 20m long and is almost hidden behind a horrible 20th century road bridge and below it is a smelly swap.I am giving it one star because when you walk half an hour to see it, it is very disappointing. But it could have been lovely if city planners had an ounc eof taste.
wish we hadnt of bothered. no plaque telling you about it. right next to a busy main road. small, and surrounded by rip off bars. adam budd
