I went there to ask for some details/maps, not about Dongara but Geraldton. Both ladies were very helpful and kind.I just wish that they had some kind of canoes for hire on the Irwin river (just like in Guilderton), nice river, no access to it.
They recommended the Dongra Beach Caravan Park the challets are almost on the beach, so close that you can cast into the ocean from your deck
Come have a swim at Dongara , A must is visit the Activity Park 14km north of Dongara. Its great for family and friends something there for everyone ;archery , mini golf, croquet and more. Play golf at our beautiful golf course, have a game of bowls .Visit the gym,or relax beside the marina soaking up the sun and scenery looking at the boats or walking one of the many trails Dongara has to offer. There is plenty to choose from. Come and see.
Friendly staff man this fairly stock standard tourist info centre. If you have bowled into the Dongara area just south of Geraldton with no fixed plans then this is probably the best place to come to sort out your itinerary. In essence you get:Plenty of tourist brochures for local accommodation.Plenty of tourist brochures for local tourist attractions.A small selection of tourist stuff to buy (caps, t-shirts, spoons, shot glasses etc).Handy, and right next to a local museum which makes it even more worth the quick stop.
Thank you for visiting, the Centre used to stock local produce however someone knocked over a bottle of local olive oil which went all into the carpet. The whole centre needed to have the carpet replaced and it was a big task and we had to close for a period. The Shire decided from then that we no longer stock it however it can be purchased from the local supermarkets. There is also a lovely gift shop in Port Denison, Presentz which stock local artwork, crafts and hampers of produce , we don't want to compete with local businesses so happily send people there.Thank you for your comments and I hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday in Australia.
Thank you for your comments, I'm glad you enjoyed the accommodation in the Shire of Irwin. We agree the signage needs improving and have identified this in the budget so hopefully next time you call through it will have improved.
thank you for helping us out with a few activities and the map etc. friendly service with lots of brochures etc to obtain.
