Donovaly is good for families, to practice, or for beginners. Good skiers would not have enough slopes to have fun. The telemix is a fun mix of cabin and seat.2 problems though:- blue slopes and red slopes are not connected (unless tons of snow?) - you have to walk one kilometer between them- even when only 4 machines out of 16 are working you have to pay the full 26 euros a day - in the alps (Avoriaz for example) when 30% of slopes are not open, you get a discount.
A really nice place for family skiing trip. Diferent slopes for all family members and a great snowboard riders par. Amazing value for money.
Quiet and beautiful view in the small little ski town. Too bad the snow was not ready for skiing. Friendly and helpful locals. Not a busy and packed resort. There are restaurants nearby.Check out my photos for rates and map!
Inexpensive but limited skiing. Restaurants difficult to get into as so busy. Staff not very friendly.
The prices are good adequately to state of the slopes. I was there with my girlfriend and we had very good time. There were also many children and enough restaurant. Park snow is great place for skiing.
Donovaly Ski resort is one of the most popular in Slovakia. If you are beffiner or skilled sportsman you can find all what you nees here. The snow board free ride park is also included here. You have lot of opportunitiws for staying here for the whole year. If you would like to have some drink you can find it in the Yeti bar under the hill and go there on your skies. Highly recomment to go here fot the great skiing ;)
Bad services at Villa Gardenia, but great skiing. Park Snow Donovaly is an amazing place to ski but beware of Villa Gardenia!!
Donovaly in the summertime is spectacular. Quiet and remarkably beautiful for a sleepy little ski town in the mountains of Slovakia. My wife and I walked the streets and ate lunch in a local cafe. The locals were helpful and spoke broken English but were able to help us and let us know we were welcome in their town.
Very good for families with kids and average skiers, no cues and lots of space...allowing snowboarding together with skiing is not that good idea...
Perfect skiing possibilities for children, good prepared slopes, enough restaurants in the neighborhood.
