What a great trail! Plenty of shade and most of the trail runs right along the creek so it felt much cooler than the 90 degree day. The Uwchlan Trail is a 3 mile trail that shoots off the Struble trail at Dowling Forge Road. It has some small inclines but only enough to make it interesting and you're surrounded by lots of nature to put your mind at rest.
Good place to take the scooters, bikes and to jog. The trail is very wide and paved which makes it easy to get around.
I live close to this trail and walk it every day! Right on the water and beautiful. Lots of dogs and bikes so keep your eyes open!
I use this 6 mile (out and back) trail when I'm training for a half or full marathon. It is very flat and very clean. There are port-a-potties available just off the side of the trail. Bikes are also on the trail and they can be a nuisance. Parking is available in a couple of spots -- which is a nice added bonus. It is peaceful, serene and a good place to stroll to get your thoughts in order.
This is roughly a 2.6-mile trail that's broken into 2 sections. Has 2 trailheads on both ends (the eastern one accessible via Norwood Rd.) where each can accommodate about a dozen vehicles. Well-maintained and a very good trail for public outdoor activities (walking, jogging, biking, etc.) Always available year-round and the only time it's a bad idea to visit is after a very strong downpour which would make the water of the Brandywine Creek rise and eventually runoff to the trail.
Great paved trail. It gets pretty crowded, but it's a nice length and is shaded. Also, the scenery is a nice view. I took my bike and did the trail. It's a mixture of bikers, walkers, and joggers.
Even though we live on the lake, this is my wife's favorite trail in the area. Runs along the Brandywine river from Uwchlan to Downingtown. We like to bike with the dog into Dtown, have some breakfast and slow poke it back. Beautiful.
This is a nice flat trail suitable for young families, dog walkers, bikers, strollers. It's an easy walk and there are plenty of places to park too.
This is a pretty trail that runs along a creek. The trail is good for walking and biking and generally people who use this trail are considerate of the other people using it - that means walkers/runners run to one side, people on bikes announce themselves when they are coming up behind you, and those with pets keep them leashed. It gets pretty busy on Sunday mornings and parking can be a little tight as it is a popular running spot. Most people use the plentiful trash receptacles and waste bags. The benches are in working order and the trail is regularly maintained by the County. The trail is about 2.5 miles so you can make a nice 5 mile trip. There are several access points so you can customize your workout. It's a really pretty trail and I'm grateful that there is such a lovely open space that so convenient to where I live.
Flat fast trail along the brandywine river perfect for running, walking with a stroller or biking. Tends to be much more crowded during the warmer months.
