We loved being able to walk on, short ride over to MV and then picked up a rental and explored the island. Very nice. Be sure to return for the last ferry, early, early to get on.
We stayed right down the street at the Motor Lodge. It was great, didn't have to deal with parking and got right on the boat. The ferry folks were helpful making suggestions and we ended up riding the bike path.
We were going to opt out of a trip to Martha's Vineyard as the ferry prices seemed huge for a day trip but then we found the prices for the Island queen at $20 round trip. We drove from West Yarmouth to falmouth but it was worth it . Great , helpful crew, on time , loads of seating inside and out plus, although we didn't try them, very cheap refreshments . parking is just a few minutes walk away at$15 all day. Don't look elsewhere but I think it stops running In the winter after Columbus Day but check.
It was a pleasant ride to Martha's Vineyard when the 4 of us visited in mid October. The price was acceptable for the roundtrip voyage. Lots of seating and a comfortable ride. If we ever went to Martha's Vineyard again we would take this ferry.
Quick, friendly, inexpensive summertime service to Oak Bluffs Martha’s Vineyard. Sails directly from beautiful Falmouth harbor.
This is a nice family run service. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is no confusion as with some of the big ship venues. An important thing to know, they don't take credit cards. Other than that, this is the easiest way to get to the Vineyard.
The ferry is always clean. The attendants are always pleasant. There's a bar and snacks. The schedule is adhered to. It's the best price from Falmouth. They've been doing this a long time.
pleasant staff great ride over to the vineyard and awesome bloody marys....lol great views of the ocean and just an all around great experience.....
Reasonably priced, quick trip to M.V. (Oak Bluffs) for passengers only (i.e., no autos). Bikes are allowed for a small additional charge. The boat runs like clockwork in the summer (and not at all in the winter) every 1.5 hours during the day. Parking can be expensive, but cheaper than the cost of a tow and ticket if you park illegally nearby.
Nice ride, enjoyed the trip. Price is fair and the ferry seemed safe, would definitely take it again.
