We saw Steel Magnolias on Saturday night as part of our anniversary celebration and had a great time. The theater seats about 100 people, and you need to get there when the doors open 30 minutes before showtime to get a seat in the front. All of the actresses were excellent, as was the production itself. We do not go to the theater very often, but I would highly recommend going to this one. It is funny, it has heart, and it is very well done.
Strong cast. Good voices. Great costumes! A wonderful production. Brad was hot in the Red Sequined Busteay (sp) and those high heels.cut a!! Muscle Man could have easily been a gymn bunny with no voice. The guy cast was alittle on the small side. Franken Furder was wonderful. Janet was deliciously GOP. The narrator was good a stand out as well. ....We were there on Halloween Night and the only downside was the one person "Heckler" who thought he was so very funny. He was not. The only down side was the crowd waiting to get in...Why not open up the house early for seating? Too much standing around, not a good way to take up or check tickets, and some had to stand outside. Overall a good experience. We will come back! Keep up the good work! John Gregory
Act Too players did a great job with The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. We took 7 of our grandchildren to see the play the weekend before Christmas and had a wonderful time. The little singers before the play were hysterical. Thanks BRT!
We live in the Franklin area so we've been to the BRT a number of times. It's in a very cool old building and is right next to a shopping/restaurant area called The Factory. It seats about 100 people, so it's very intimate. There is no assigned seating, so get there when doors open for best seating if you have a large party that wants to sit together (although, there are no bad seats). The quality of the productions have been excellent. They pack a lot of production quality into a very small venue. From the live music to the staging and acting, it's a great experience. I highly recommend it to residents and visitors. For pre-show dinner, I recommend Saffire or Boxwood Bistro, both of which are in the same complex and a very short walk.
Hayden Gill brought Oliver to life and did a remarkable job! All if the actors were fabulous!
We have been going for years. Small and very friendly. Mostly very high standards.
This is a great place to see a play. Have dinner and drinks first at Sapphires. The theatre only has water and soda, candy and popcorn. Very limited. Very small but no bad seats.
A "small" theatre experience made the evening delightful, and the enjoyment provided by incredible talents (acting and musically) was a big part of our Christmas. As I told cast members afterward, a small amount of applause is not a satisfying way to say "thank you." But perhaps their joy in what they do (which is evident) is encouragement to continue. Please do so.MFC
Have been season ticket holders and supporters for 10 years. Consistantly amazing theatre experience. We look forward to every production. They take risks with tough material. Don't miss.
Saw Oliver, me, hubby, mom, 17 year old son and 12 year old son who went in protest, but thanked my for taking him at the end of the show. Turns out both my boys discovered they go to school with a couple of the young actors and had high praises for them personally. Will continue to watch for more great shows to take my boys to. Try to get to TPAC when possible, but this is a great cheaper alternative to give them a bit more personal exposure to the theater.
