This quirky museum, just a few minutes from the interesting castle, contains some quite fascinating rooms : an extraordinary exhibition of lutes, the famous Dance of Death mural, and some truly beautifully decorated rooms.
Very quiet when we were there, plenty to see. Layout a bit confusing. Old musical instruments and making them exhibit very good. Most of the signs in one language only so not easy to follow the history but were given an English booklet but the layout of the rooms made it hard to follow. Using the discount voucher from the hotel saved a euro or 2, but not expensive anyway. Worth a visit
菲森博物馆是修道院改建的。修道院的装饰非常华丽。主要展示的是乐器相关的东西。是乐器爱好者值得一去的地方。尤其是关于小提琴的东西
This is a small city museum. By using the quest's card, we paid only 4 Euros for entrance. The part we enjoyed most is the exhibition of the ancient instruments and some of the video showing the making of one of the instruments. All the signs are in German. Since this is only a city museum, I believe they target the local people somehow, and do not bother to explain all things in English. If you are interested in musical instruments, it is worthwhile paying a visit; otherwise, it is a waste of money and time.
Central, got in free with the Konigscard, fascinating display of musical instruments that kept us both enthralled.
The history of this region goes back thousands of years, and here you learn of this, as well as the history of the economics that developed this area. Very well signed museum.Enjoy!
This museum has a little of everything. It is housed in the old monastery, so the old rooms (particularly the library) are incorporated into the museum. This is a hidden gem.
This museum was a surprise and full of history of Fussen and its surrounds dating back to Roman times. The 'dance of death' painting, the monks library and performance hall were our highlights, but there was much more and well worth the time to see....and you could take photos.
This is a very nice old town situated near the river Lech. The High Castle in Fussen was given its present form at the end of the 15th century. Emperor Maximilian I stayed here fourteen times.Close to the border of Austria and lots of magnificent places to visit too.
The museum is tucked away at the lower end of the town by the river.Indide there are various digings from when it was a monastry. In the various rooms there are paintings etc, etc. What was most interesting for me was the musical section showing various old and interesting stringed instruments lutes, madolins, guitars and violins. There is a section showing how these instruments are made the craftmanship is fantastic.Although we did not have time to see it all we found it well worth the visit. The staff are very helpfull and speak english
