We had a hard time finding the gardens. We called several times and they couldn't give us very good directions when we were just a block away. Once we got there it was so small and not much there. They charge a lot of money to get in and it would have taken us about 5 mins or less to walk thru. They need a lot of work to build the place up before thy charge anything. Not worth your time to find it!
This was the most beautiful place I think I have ever seen. Arkansas has the most gorgeous flowers ever. I came home wanting to plant a succulent garden. I hope to go back again.
The Botanical Gardens is a weekly visit for me. I like to ride the bike path over and stop and relax in the beautiful surroundings. They have done a great job with the gardens, and it's especially lovely in the spring. Definitely one of the nicer botanical gardens I've visited.
I am a master gardener and found the Botanical Gardens to be beautiful. It is really in it infancy but getting better all the time. It is a very nice stop for someone interested in gardening/
After being in the car for 3 days looking for a house, this was nice to find somewhere to walk around and stretch our legs. The flowers are beautiful and the butterflies were everywhere! There is a rooster and hen house on the grounds and a vegetable garden. There are picnic tables to have lunch or sit in the shade. It is still small, but the lady I spoke with said they were expanding and making improvements. There is also a nature trail that goes around the gardens, but we didn't do that due to how humid and hot it was that day. People were walking, jogging and riding their bikes on the trail. Popular place.
My wife and I spent part of an afternoon at the Garden. It's fairly new and it shows. They do have some really pretty grounds, but could use some docents walking the grounds who could talk about local flora. We'll probably give it a second try on a return trip.
The volunteer staff was very gracious and kind. The gardeners preparing for an even the evening to follow our visit went out of their way to make sure we knew of a harmless black snake that was slumbering near an entrance to one of the gardens. We were lucky to arrive early in the day before the heat had set in.
The gardens are well cared for and the variety of flowers and way they're displayed is attractive. There are several other landscaped parks within northwest Arkansas that are FREE, however, and just as pretty as this one which costs. This park is north of Fayetteville, not in town.
Great toddler Programing. A creative and fun place to visit.would love it if they sold snacks so you could have a picnic there. Great place for all ages.
This is just the right size for a botanical garden, not overwhelming. There are 12 themed gardens (child's, shade, native, rose, Japanese, etc.) - each with its own personality, and a butterfly house ("The Only One in Arkansas"). Plenty of places to just sit and enjoy the color.
