This is a nice little nature trail to walk. You can see the history of making cranberries, if you go at the right time you can see the red sea of cranberries also. Also can watch the harvesting of the cranberries, again if you go at the right time! Whenever you go its a beautiful walk through the woods and trails.
Enjoyed the nice easy walk. The foliage and birds and turtles nice to see. Yet they have not kept up the ponds. They are overgrown with algea and quite unappealing.
Located behind a massive Bass Pro Shops, this is a great little trail to enjoy on a nice afternoon when shopping at Patriot Place. Its well maintained and offers plenty of plant life and wildlife, along with some interesting information on how cranberries are harvested.
We had no idea this trail was here and were very happy to be able to enjoy it. There are some serious hills in the wooded section and I felt bad for parents pushing strollers on these paths but the wetlands/bog area was flat and perfect for walking. Young and old will love the feeling of being surrounded by natural beauty.I would 100% recommend checking this trail out!
This is a small but very interesting trail. There was a lot of different things to take in, plants, trees, wildlife. It's easy to miss a lot but if you simply pause and observe there are a lot to dragonflies, turtles, frogs, geese, swallows, fish, etc. A wonderful and unexpected treat in the area or even a great place to let the kids let off a little steam before you take in some shopping ;)
Used this as a wind down and opportunity for exercise before flight home.Trail beautiful ( and free !). Enjoyed fall foliage. Saw a chipmunk, as well as mallards.Seeing and learning about the cranberry bogs was an added plus.Entire family enjoyed this piece of our trip, which was absolutely free.
We're at Patriot Place quite a bit but never knew this nature trail was here. We spotted it after some shopping at Bass Pro Shops and it's free so we decided to go for it. Kids were in awe of all of the turtles and frogs they spotted in the pond. It's a short 1/2 mile walk through the nature trail and bog. Next time we'll plan to wear sneakers instead of flip flops so the kids can explore more of the wooded area.
We went right after harvest season so there weren't big crowds. It is great day outdoors and it is free. You can walk through the bog and up into the near forest, well marked trails and even have a picture taken by a statue of a moose(I think) as you enter, there are seats and a water feature that everyone seem to like
The location is a perfect addition to any visit to Patriot Place. It's a short walk and a nice quick trip with great scenery. My husband and I had our engagement photos taken here as well as wedding day photos. It is beautiful in the summer and fall.
We come hear regularly to look for snakes and turtles (my son's current interest). Painted turtles and some snappers can be seen in the pond, and on the trail during mating season. Lots of water snakes, but they are NOT poisonous, don't worry, and they tend to stay in the water/near the water edges, so you usually won't see them unless looking for them. Many birds around, including an egret I sometimes see. It's nice to watch the changes with the cranberries from one season to the next. There's a little patio with a man-made pond with frogs, right behind BassPro (I think that part belongs to BassPro), where you can relax on cushioned chairs (with Ottomans for your tired feet!) while the kids try to catch frogs. Very easy half-mile hike, though there is some that is uphill. nice place to go, and then go inside BassPro snack shop for an ice cream.
