Woodbury has some of the best wine in the area - and I have to disagree with the reviews criticizing their customer service. Woodbury had some of the nicest and most hospitable people that we met on the wine trail! We will definitely be back!
Stopped in for a break on trip. Bartender totally ignored us. She didnt inform us about the tasting or anything else. I requested to taste the wine I wanted to purchase. She was just as rude to my friend. I understand weve been on the road all day, but, really??!!
My family and I were so pleased to visit Woodbury for a Sunday Dinner and wine tasting. We met the friendliest and most knowledgeable staff including Maria, Phil, and Ange. After a delicious lasagna dinner prepared by Maria featuring a giant shrimp shooter, delicious caprese salad, homemade lasagna, desert & wine; our children were engaged in painting with Ange outside together designing their most amazing art work to take back home. There was something for everyone. We enjoyed the atmosphere and tasting some awesome wine while learning more about the craft of wine making from Phil. We will definitely be back and will recommend Woodbury Winery to all our family and friends! Thank you for such an enjoyable and memorable evening.
For a $4 tasting fee (includes souvenir glass) you may select 6 wines to try. One that I wanted to try the staff member said that his bottle was gone, and went to check. He did not know why we could not taste, and I asked if another bottle could be opened. Another staff member came over, I think she may have been a manager/supervisor, and proceeded to lecture me about how they only have a limited number of bottles of that wine left, and the next year's batch is not yet ready. The staff member conducting our tasting did not seem to know very much about the wines and was not able to answer my questions. He also mentioned that the winery had just re-opened after a period of not doing well.I personally did not care for their wines, however this is just an opinion. This rating is based on the poor customer service I experienced during my visit.
This winery is definitely worth a stop! The wine is delicious!! The atmosphere and people are very welcoming. The happy hour they do in the summer is very relaxing and fun. I live a couple hours away, but I always make sure I stop here when I am in the area.
Had a great time at Woodbury Vineyards! My wife and I stopped in at 10 am on Sunday. The inside was very well decorated and inviting. They have a new area for relaxing and sipping wine for tastings that is very comfortable. We were helped by Ariel. She was great. She was very helpful and fun during our tasting. $5 for 6 tastings includes one of their new wine glasses. Great deal! During our tasting the owner, Maria, showed up. She was very gracious and informative. It's obvious this place is a labor of love for her. She even took our picture by the sign. She also introduced us to the winemaker, Phil. He was very friendly and hilarious. All in all, we got way more than we bargained for. we will be back next time we are in the area.
This was one of the stops that participated in our Lake Erie wine package that we purchased from Ohio. The other wineries offered a generous $25 certificate, etc to use towards our purchase, tasting or gifts. Woodbury gave us a very skimpy cheese plate. The wines were "okay" but over-priced. If you're visiting a lot of wineries- put this one on the bottom and visit only if time permits.
This vineyard has been around for many years and is a great place to visit and do a little wine tasting. During the fall when the grapes are getting ripe the smell in the air is wonderful.
We were enroute from Niagara Falls to Pittsburgh and wanted a winery stop to break up our travel day. Chose this winery from the billboard and we were glad we did. It was just a few miles from the highway, so we didn't waste a lot of extra time/miles. It's a pretty small place, but is very quaint inside with some amazing art, by a local artist that looks like stained glass from far but is really painted fabric. We learned they are now offering painting parties, that include some pizza and wine. Check with them for details. We were the only people there on a Monday afternoon in fall and the gal who poured our tasting was very nice and informative. We enjoyed several of the wines and felt the tasting fee of $4 for 6 tastes including a souvenir glass was an excellent value! We liked their selection of wine gifts and purchased several items along with some wine. Enjoyed seeing some grapes on the vine and pretty fall foliage along the road. Great quick stop. Wish we had time to spend exploring more of this wine trail.
This is one of the three best wineries that know how to make you feel at home. All the wineries in the area offer the experience of learning about the wines, and tasting the different wines. Woodbury charges $5 per person for 6 tastings, and you get your wine glass with their name included. The lady that helped us was so wonderful. She made us feel like we were at home, very knowledgeable of the different wines, provided us more samples of other wines. We purchased 1/2 case of wine here. I recommend visiting this winery. Great wine, excellent service, definitely will go back.
