From our hotel we could see the dolphins frolicking in the waves. We walked on the beach and just loved being out in the sea air. Lovely!
There is trully something for everyone here. Virginia Beach is the best location to experience all of what Hampton Roads has to offer year round. The beach, museums, camping, boating, fishing, military tours, historical sites, the list goes on and on. At the beach there are sections that quiet and areas with entertainment, shops and amusments. And 45 mins away are the historical sites of Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown the birth place the nation. Plus Busch Gardens and Water Country amusement parks. Enjoy
When our three son were little, Virginia Beach was our favorite destination for our summer vacations. The beach was always clean, the waves welcoming and it's a virtual all inclusive playground with the boardwalk, fishing and so much more. This past October we made a return visit to Virginia Beach for the first time in many years staying at an oceanfront hotel with our youngest son, wife and our youngest grandson. New and precious memories. The boardwalk offered many new changes and improvement, many new hotels and resturants, great playgrounds on the sand but still the same wonderful feel of a great vacation destination. When not playing in the sand or splashing in the surf, a stroll down Atlantic Ave offers a great variety of gift/souvenior shops and resturants. Be sure to take the time to walk on the pier for another taste (and smeill) of the ocean and enjoy the early sunrise. A kite is a great accessory to have when at the ocean.
The weather was wonderful the weekend we went and got to walk on the beach and the girls got to play in the sand
Really nice beach area and space to enjoy between boardwalk & ocean. Boardwalk presents many interesting historical statues, sculptures, and historical sites along with points of interest and fun things to do, nice stores, and restaurants to experience.
Not too crowded for mid August and the beaches were kept clean and had watchful lifeguards. Different from Duck where we usually go, but good overall.
We needed an escape for a couple days. Had not visited Va Beach in many years. Never felt safe for some reason. We started visiting the beaches further south and never returned. In our younger days the crowd was enticing and exciting. I am glad we returned and were able to enjoy some great seafood, and wonderful restaurants and no waiting in line. Oh yeah, I Love Jets.
Great beaches, Good food, and overall people are ok. Love visiting here and taking a break. Definitely hit the beaches and take your time.
what can I say lived here forever and like it somewhat. They don't like for us locals to hang out at the ocean front during the tourist season. The hotels are over priced and there isn't a whole lot to do but the are building more entertainment for the tourists
We thoroughly enjoy this beach city. Surviving there for five days is easily done without moving your car all week if you so choose. Nice options. Convenient. Easy to navigate. Very enjoyable. We go Sunday through Thursday anymore. Weekends are just too crowded and congested. This way we avoid the congestion and have a leisurely and enjoyable vacation.
