The artist here does excellent work with glass. The demonstrations he provided were both interesting and informative. We really enjoyed watching.
Glassblowing is such an amazing art form, how they can start with this lump of molten glass and spin and blow it into so many things
A very gifted young man gave us a great demonstration of his glass blowing techniques ! He had many different glass items on display which were to purchase .
John welcomes you into his amazing studio and gallery workshop.Surrounded by friends and guests the glass blowing beginsAmazing selection of product and wonderful art in actionHighly recommend ThanksAllen and Judy Gabriel and Mairim
So much talent in a little shop. The owner, John, is very nice and willing to share his know-how. He is a wonderful artist and the pieces in the shop are quite beautiful. I picked out one of his hand-blown glass pendants to take home and work into one of my necklace creations. He invited us back at 2:00 to "bust out" a few more pendants of my design, but we were unable to stay in Frisco until then.
Found this place on Trip Advisor and were very glad we did. It happened to be a Tuesday so we enjoyed watching another couple taking a glass blowing lesson. John invited us to come closer and explained what was going on. Afterward we purchased a beautiful vase which he then signed. Support this local man, you will be glad you did. His work is lovely!
Please accept our sincere apology for your experience. We do our best to welcome all of the visitors to our studio and to provide a fascinating, safe and positive experience. We usually manage to do this even on the most hectic of summer days. Sometimes it's difficult for the artists to juggle multiple visitors while in the midst of working with 2000-degree molten glass. Again, we apologize that you didn't feel welcome and that you were unable to see the demo. We appreciate your feedback and will certainly strive to improve. If you are in the area again, please stop in and introduce yourselves -- we'll do our best to make it up to you. - Kate & John Hudnut, owners of GatherHouse
Very unique glass vessels and other artistic objects. Wonderful owner and teacher, has glass blowing demos and classes. Outstanding craftsmanship and store!
We happened to be in Frisco at the right time on the right day to watch a glass blowing presentation. I think the door said it happens after 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday & Sundays (but I'm not 100% sure). It was neat to watch & he did have two young 'assistants' helping him in the process. IMO he was a little harsh/rude but I assume when you're working with something so hot you have to be direct. The store front has some items you can purchase. I'm not sure what I expected but everything was WAY more expensive than I would have ever thought so we didn't actually buy anything. It's definitely worth the stop if you're in the are & have an hour or so to kill.
My third time to visit Gatherhouse and have a class with John Hudnut was just as fascinating as the first two visits. Again I designed and helped create a piece of glass art, this year, a vase. John's easy manner and passion for glass make for a great experience. Next visit to Frisco, I will be back!
