this is wonderful if you have kids especially if one parent works there are lots to do and the activity schedule is nice
Bledsoe Creek USA great place to picnic, camp, fish or just sit and watch the wildlife. This morning while fishing a family of wild turkeys ( about 10 ) wandered across the path. Taking their time in search of breakfast. They didn't seem to mind that I was sitting about 20 feet away.I have to wonder if you can't hand feed the deer. Once again they seem to tolerate all the human activity going on around them. The park is the perfect setting. It is beautiful and seems remote but is actually easily accessible to Gallatin where you'll find restaurants and shopping.
This is a great state park campground. Large sites that were well maintained, level and paved. The price was extremely reasonable. Nice hiking trail around the park. Close to gallatin. I would stay here again.
The updates to this campground are great.. There are lots of wildlife here... There are lots of activities to do.. It sits adjacent to water so there's fishing, swimming and boating.. IT's a very relaxing and casual place... Most all the campsites are level and easy to get the camper parked.. Lots of trees for shade also.. The park is kept very well.. All it would need would be wifi service and sewer hookups to make it perfect..
This park is wonderfully maintained and everything is always in great condition. All the trails are well marked and the play areas are wonderful for kids. The restrooms and campsites are clean. We always see deer and typically turkeys too when we visit. You can visit during the day for free but after certain hours you have to pay for camping to stay in the park. They are building a brand new visitor center which will most likely open in later 2015. We visit here every time we are in Gallatin.
Stopped here to camp with our travel trailer on the way to Kentucky. Wished we could have stayed longer. Our site number 57 was perfect. Wide paved site with open area on one side and a path to the creek in the back. We would take our chairs down to the creek to enjoy the view, wildlife and serenity. The park personnel were friendly and helpful. Bathhouse very clean and air-conditioned. Every day we saw many deer, and wild turkey. The campground reminded us more of a nice city neighborhood than a normal campground. Would definitely recommend this park if you are in the area.
A great place to take the family for a hike. The trail is not too tough. Besides a really pretty and you should see lots of wildlife.
love taking my family to camp, hike or just ride through the park! My husband started taking me here once we got married and i continue to love it here!
I went walking with my wife on the trails at Bledsoe Creek and found them very delightful and fairly easy to navigate. We started at the Wildlife observation deck and took the Shoreline trail (aka, I believe, red trail) that loops the perimeter of the park.We went clockwise around the trail and was glad we did. For the most part the trail is easy but towards the later third of the trail it goes down to the shoreline and the Park has installed wooded steps to aid walkers to go down (or up) the dirt trail. We could tell from the strain on our legs that we were glad we were going down the steps rather that up the steps. The park has provided benches to seat on along the way. I am 73 years old and for the most part found the trail easy to walk and for sure we will be back.
We had my daughter's wedding here last weekend and had a wonderful experience! Imagine a wedding where there are deer, wild turkeys, and herons in the background. Wonderful views of lake and woods from the gazebo where the ceremony took place! The staff was very helpful with everything and I cannot thank them enough for our great experience!
