Just across from the Amalienborg, the Copenhagen Opera House is an architect's dream. Very contemporary, the Opera House is a magnificent addition to the varied historical architecture of Copenhagen. The best views are across the water from Fredericksstaden looking East toward the Opera House. The modern Copenhagen Opera House is a unique contrast to the very classical Amailenborg, part of the Fredericksstaden planned district. These distinctive structures, both the old and new, are positioned across from the other in beautiful city of Copenhagen. Our timing didn't allow us to see the opera, so we are destined to return to this historic progressive city.
We liked the Copenhagen Opera House. We viewed it during the Copenhagen canal tour. A beautiful piece of architectural structure.
Ia a stunning architecture in the bartic sea. It can be reach by boat and / or bus. We could not get in because it was Christmas day and it was closed. We were able to see part of the interior by the cristal walls, is a large modern minimalist structure.
We didn't actually visited the Opera House then but we admired the building from the gardens of Amalienborg. My companion and host in Copenhagen told me that the owner of Maersk (the world's largest container ship operator) donated the money to build it, which wasn't accepted by many at the beginning because this donation would be tax deductible - meaning that the state would be forced to "buy" it.
My mother and I visited København in October and decided to go see an opera. It was a fabulous experience to see Tosca by Puccini. The building and the flower decorations was superb and the architecture of the building was breathtaking.
One of the most beaudiful and impressive buildings in Copenhagen. Especialy the interior. Take the boat-bus across the habour to visit.
Fabulous acoustics and design, quirky location (go by boat for the full experience) and surprisingly good quality opera. Try the chocolates in the interval bar. Their "Der Rosenkavalier" was worthy of any global opera centre
Set away from the main hub of the city, but impressive none the less. We saw it from the canal tour, and took some lovely pictures. If it was closer I would have gone for a wonder around to see it up close.
we went for a Russian ballet premiere, it was fabulous evening!and the top cherry, the buffet afterthat was sensational!
