Great way to break the winter blues. Kids spent most of the afternoon between the water park and arcade. Nice affordable break from winter
The waterpark had a couple of slides, but nothing major. There weren't a lot of lineups on the slides as most waterparks tend to have. It is good for younger kids (under 10) but nothing great for older kids.
I stopped in here on New Years Day with out kids to give them a treat before heading back to Winnipeg. It looked great from the outside, lots of tubes, basketballs in the water, big slides and not to busy.We walked in the the changeroom to find a stall with no door on it and weren't share where we could use facilities if we needed to. Who wants to see a 40y old guy on the crapper? I could be wrong, but did I see $12 for a locker and they wouldn't even fit my jacket, let alone three of our personal belongings. Some bullet points about the issues we had:- Tubes were pretty much all flat and no one was re-filling them- Basketballs were all flat and when I asked the lifeguard if she knew where to get them filled she looked upset that I was asking and told me to go ask in the canteen. Here's a thought, get off your lazy butt and go ask for me as it's your job, no mine. I went to ask and they said "no". So there are three basketballs in the hoop area and they all suck.- No towels were given to us on the way in, so I had to ask a patron where they go there's- About 1/2 or more of the squirter and interactive features on the double waterslide were Out of Order, that's lots of fun.- 1/2 the people didn't have wristbands and I overhead people saying "we don't pay, they never ask or look". - kids that were barely a foot tall were going down with their parents on the tubes which is fine, but then don't post that you have to be a certain height and one person per tube.- Stairs up the the tube slide were gross. Falling apart, pieces all over the place, rotten wood exposed and having to walk on it.One of the biggest issues was the chlorine. I have never had irritation from a public pool, city pool, waterpark or hotel pool...but My arms, legs and chest (as well as my kids) all look like we have been in the sun without sunscreen in Florida for a week. When we walked in to the hot tub, it felts like my legs were on fire. The place is a mess, the staff were useless and too many things broken down or out of order.
The kids love it. It's kinda noisy but a great place to go when the kids are bored and have the winter blues. We love the lazy river and the big slide. Our 3 year old was able to play a lot in the smaller kid area!
this is a place to definitely take your kids, but if your going there just to swim, i would say you would be disappointed. For adults there is only a hot tub, a lazy river and the water slide, and you tend to get bored quickly. But needless to say we did have fun.
First let me say that my kids had a blast at Splasher's 8/17/14. We were there for a birthday party and they loved every second of it. Unfortunately, there were several things that, as a parent, I could not help but notice. I cannot believe how badly this place has gone into disrepair. It hasn't even been open all that long! The women's bathroom had one soap dispenser knocked off the wall and laying on the counter, the other was pretty much empty. The paper towel dispenser was cracked and broken. The floors in the bathroom had standing water on them and there was not a dry place to set our stuff down. There was a teeter totter in the kiddie pool area that literally had caution tape wrapped all over it (which children were still playing on even though it was clearly not safe to do so). There disgusting band aids laying randomly around the park. I literally have never seen so much gum stuck to so many surfaces throughout the park. The paint was peeling ALL OVER the walls. The floor (EVERYWHERE) was so dirty. There was mud caked in every nook and cranny in every part of the floor. It really looks as though it is rarely cleaned or repaired. I just was so sad to see how gross this place has become, and it is such a cool place! It wasn't always this way. So many awesome features that my kids just love and I think are so awesome too. However, it is so dirty and gross and not taken care of that I doubt I'll bring my kids again. It makes me mad to spend $16 a person and then feel weird about letting my kids get in the water because of how gross it is. I would really love to see Splasher's take a little pride in maintaining what should be an awesome attraction in Grand Forks!
The kids just love this place. It's now the main reason why we head over to the states from Winnipeg.
Kids will love it. Loud. Many safe areas for the kids to play in and will keep them busy. They will sleep well. Not included in room rate.
Hello TrippiesWe took our daughter to Splasher's of the South Seas for an afternoon. All in all it's a fun place for kids but it's getting dated and it is quite dirty. Paint is coming off walls, the pool areas have moldy areas. It's not well maintained anymore. The bathrooms were unacceptable in all aspects. Avoid those like the plague.I noticed distinctly the lifeguards avoid the walking in any of the water. That kind of made me think maybe they know something we don't about the cleanliness of the water. There is a fun waterslide with a whirlpool effect. There's also a couple of neat kiddie slides. I'm sure CanadaInns will eventually renovate it.In summary it's fun for the kids but i do question the cleanliness.Hope this helps.
OMG!! the BEST waterpark out there!! 16$ each,(no food or drinks allowed but there is a little restaurant and a locker for your stuff) the kids and even US had a blast!! Awesome for ALL ages!!super fun and worth going for the day!!!
