Visited here on a Wednesday night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely décor, friendly staff and obviously a great choice of gins. There was a young woman singing and playing guitar, she was terrific, didn't catch her name but she told us she's there Wednesdays and Fridays. All in all a very enjoyable evening.
Stumbled on this place and will be back. Great atmosphere, fab playlist playing in the background (wish it had been louder). Friends all had different kinds of gin and we were very impressed with the choice. All the staff appeared happy at their work! Will recommend this place in a heartbeat!
Stumbled across Gin 71 one Wednesday night and so glad we did as it was a great night. We were heading towards the station for 1 for the road when we heard some nice music being sung so decided to let our curiousity take control and see what it was all about. The welcome was nice and friendly and we were shown to couches just next to where the girl was signing and given the menu where there were more gin combinations than I had ever seen before in my life ! We went for the sharing cocktail which I think was called a cool cucumber and it was served in a lovely Hendrick's Tea Pot with 2 little tea cups :-) A lovely touch and the drink itself was really nice and very refreshing. Stayed for around 1.5 hours sampling a few other gins whilst listening to the girl who was belting out some classic tunes.... Overall a great experience and one I shall definetely be repeating in the future... Cheers ;-)
So much Gin to choose from. If you are a gin drinker it's heaven but if not there is still plenty of other choice. Lovely decor and nice atmosphere. Have been twice now and will be back.
Gin 71/Cup Tea Room is a wonderful place. They offer both a varied food menu with afternoon tea and dessert options and their vast selection of whole leaf teas, and the best selection of gin in Glasgow and an impressive cocktail menu. The surroundings are beautiful - in one of Glasgow's Victorian buildings right in the city centre, the combination of high ceilings, chandeliers and cosy seats makes a lovely setting for an afternoon or an evening well spent!
Lovely atmospheric bar. Great singer on for New Years eve. Great choice of cocktails. Great for a night out.
Great gin bar with one of the most varied selections of gin on offer. Can recomment The Elephant gin (from Hamburg) and the Cannonball gin laced with szechuan pepper. Cupcakes were just an added bonus. Staff are knowledgable and very friendly. Will definitely go back and highly recommend. Fantastic buiding - used to be Bouzy Rouge some years ago.
the good doctor decided to take she out for a few midweek drinks and given the hype about gin71 I thought "why the hell not!". The bar was fairly quite but still had a decent atmosphere provided by the live music. As anticipated a large choice of gin on offer and everything we tried was very pleasant. What ruined the evening was the decision by the staff to start hoovering at around 10:15!! baffling and a sure way to make the Buchanans feel unwanted, the hoovering continued and I was getting ruddy cheesed off so I settled up the bill and we left to go somewhere that understands basic customer service etiquette. If ever in need of a quick gin I would opt for the all around superior Alston bar at central station.
Visited today and discovered it's a tea room before 6 pm and a gin palace after, however we were Offered a hug huge selection of gin, mixers and accompaniments. Lovely glassware and very knowledgeable staff not only on gin but the building itself. Would love to go back in the evening for a different experience. Highly recommended for gin lovers.
Make sure your visit Gin 71. It's something delightfully different. We always get the Gin Flight - 3 gins with mixers, soda syphon, ice bucket and free popcorn thrown in for good measure. Friendly staff complete the nice, relaxing experience of this Gin Joint
