Great place to visit & see some wonderful sites. Not only hiking but birding. A must stop & see. Feeling like you are on top of the world.
AMAZING, AWESOME, GREATNESS, GORGEOUS!!! I have no words to describe this amazing place!!! When you come to the South come check it out for yourself!! =)
Always enjoy the view off Caesars Head lookout and have been there in every season. It always offers something different to appeal to the photographer in me and I enjoy offering to take photos of others with their camera so they can be together in the picture for their memories.
My sister came down to SC for the first time and I took her up to Raven Cliff Falls. It was January but a warm day and without the leaves on the trees the views are in a way even more beautiful. The overlook of the falls is far away, but we were able to see it clearly, and according to the very nice and informative park rangers, was the best choice in trails for the season. We packed a picnic lunch and had an amazing day! Go EARLY it gets really crowded by early afternoon and they will close the park if they reach capacity.
A Statepark that isn't large, small about of walking, but offers a beautiful scenery. Go while the leaves are changing color is an extra bonus to enjoy.
Depending on the time of year, the drive is stunning. Once you make it to Caesars Head State Park, the view will make the trip worth it.
Unbelievably awesome views and some really challenging hiking opportunities. Be prepared to carry out whatever you may have carried in with you, as they are super-serious about their pristine mountain trails!
US 276 is a great route between Greenville and Brevard. Either way you can stop at Caesar's Head, walk about 100 yards and have a 50 mile view of SC, NC and GA. When in the Brevard area you can stop at Oscar Blues, Sierra Nevada or New Belgium (or a host of smaller breweries in the area). Raven Cliff falls, on the same route, is a nice jaunt for a hiking family. I suppose a couple miles from the trail head parking lot which is right on 276.
Ceaser's head was a breath taking experience. We enjoyed the picnic tables outside of the viewing area. We did not enjoy the profane graffiti on some of the rocks and railing, but overall an excellent way to spend an afternoon
Simply a beautiful place! Nice little gift shop. A bit primative in the way of places to sit, picnic, etc. but that is the beauty of it.
