Great location for large conventions. The setting is beautiful. I love the historical aspect of the location. However, the concessions are horrible. You can't get anything decent. The review would be higher except for the concession offering. I've tried coffee, soft drinks, and the pizza. Go hungry before getting anything from them.
This building is well designed and holds a large number of people with a good use of the space. There were some options for meals, and a nice outside space that drew many different people and many benches so that people can enjoy the outdoors. I love the look of old brick and this center fits right into the locale.
This was my second conference at this facility and both were enjoyable experiences. The Conference center is well organized, roomy and the staff was attentive and seemed to be efficient. It has a wonderful location right on the river and just steps from the river walk with ample free parking and convenient to downtown.
This was our third time for a function at the Columbus Convention Center. As always, we were treated very well by all staff, I have always found help when needed, and whomever stated in an earlier review "Spectacular renovation of old iron works” is spot on. This is an amazing renovation, and is worth a trip while in town just to have a look. The center is huge, and is one of the more beautiful old buildings I have seen a proper renovation of. The ballrooms are gigantic, the food we had was brought to us by staff and was delicious, and every visit here has been a pleasure. You take three steps to a beautiful plaza overlooking the woods and the Chattahoochee River, what an amazing view! If you are looking for a venue, or just like checking out the area, I would highly recommend taking a walk around the Columbus Convention Center.
Was here for the GHSA state cheerleading competition. Great venue. Helpful staff. Clean even with such a large crowd. Easy to get around.
So different from most cookie-cutter convention centers. Loved that the old foundry has been repurposed. Good conference venue. My only complaint -- meeting rooms were frigid.
I've been to many events here and each time they are very well organized, the center is always clean and the staff is very friendly. What is neat about this convention center is the history that is shown throughout the venue. You can see that is was like back in the old days and learn a little about the grounds. If you are not in a rush, check out the river walk directly behind the venue, it's worth a visit.
This review is simply to recommend a visit to view to renovation of the iron works buildings. i cannot comment on the convention center staff/experience. The interior is amazing to view with the huge beams and old equipment from the iron works. the center sits right on the river and is within easy walking distance to downtown shops and restaurants.
pretty amorphous place, plenty of curious events and there is ample parking in the general area. Not a whole lot to be said about the facility although it could use some benches inside for people who are waiting for something to open.
Renovated historic facilities rarely evolve into great meeting locations. THIS is the exception! Not only is it historically and aesthetically gorgeous, it is fun and functional too. No matter whether you plan to conduct a business seminar or a private wedding reception, this place needs to be at the top of your short-list of places to consider!
