This place is a precious jewel in the beautiful woods of Glen Spey. I went on a personal retreat and received the most loving support and guidance from my wonderful retreat coach. The residents I encountered were friendly and welcoming. The vegetarian meals were delicious and my room was very comfortable, clean and quiet.

I spent a weekend @ Kadampa for the "Clarity of Mind" retreat on 2/17-19. I had a great experience.: The lodging was great, the staff was great, the teachings and meditation were great, the site (temple, surrounding woods, overall layout) was great. What a nice way to continue my journey ton the path enlightenment! Nice Karma!!

Spent 2 nights in room 10 (deluxe double). Confortable room with enough place to relax (share bathroom and shower). The site is very quiet and inspiring. Visitors are ask to limit speaking between 10pm and 8am. Everybody were just so warm and nice. The meals are included in the rate. Of course this is vegeterian (buffet) but it was so delicious. We had chili, lasagna, lentils soup, lot of vegetables and perfect bread. Don't expect much for breakfast but you can grab muffins the the peace cafe. The temple worth the trip and do not hesitate to attend a teaching.

May be deceiving when driving up to the gravel parking area for the Meditation Center with its various buildings, but once walking toward the Meditation Center you will be overwhelmed with the scenery. Temple is beautiful and inspiring, a wonderful place for everyone regardless of your beliefs, to spend time in meditation or simply relaxing.

My girlfriend is into yoga and loves this place. I did to. unfortunately no body was there but we went inside to look at various things.

Wonderful place with an amazing Buddhist temple and a lovely community. Am astounding jewel in the country side, absolutely recommendable.

This place was magical! My daughter and I went for the Peace of Mind retreat. The coast is very reasonable compared to other retreats.The food was vegetarian, we are not vegetarians but we loved it. The place was just beautiful. The accommodations were cozy and clean. Everyone there was beyond friendly. We felt so at home. The gift shop was awesome. Filled with lots of books, cd’s and wonderful little gifts and mementos. The café was filled with homemade fresh baked goods and snacks. The blueberry pie was extraordinary. There were deer, bunnies and chipmunks everywhere. So adorable. The retreat itself was wonderful. We are both beginners to meditation and the wealth of information made such a difference in our journey to a better understanding of meditation. It was truly a once in a lifetime magical experience…..Will be going back with my husband.

the temple, the people, (the food) everything about my experience at the temple was nothing short of life changing. I am not a Buddhist but interested in all philosophy of spirituality and nobody once pushed any religion upon me which made the experience more about me and less about the religion. The accommodations were clean and comfortable and the cooks were amazing (this coming from a non vegetarian ). I left the grounds with a new found respect for myself and others and look forward to my next visitOh and for you drivers, the last 40 minutes up is like the Audubon of upstate NY (I'd drive that)

This was my second time at the Kadampa Meditation Center. First time with two girlfriends just for a quick relaxing weekend and I had an amazing experience. This time I went with my family. We spent a long weekend there, my husband camped with the kids and we all enjoyed it! I stayed in the dorms because I am not into camping. The dorm was simple but nice and clean. The temple is beautiful too. The grounds are gorgeous with a little lake, a lot of green and nice trails. The food is vegetarian and we all loved it, including my kids aged 6 and 8 years old. We went on a walk and saw two deers. A short drive from the temple is also a great park called Circle Park. We also drove to a lake area. Overall, a great long weekend and perfect place to relax!
