Went down with my husband and 3 horses. The weather was wonderful - thefooting on the trails was great. We had just come off a harsh winter - so naturallythe trails needed some minor work - - and we gladly picked up some branchesthat had fallen over the trail... but they were not impassable. The staff was very helpful - we got lost - but it wasn't hard to find our way back - thatswhat you get when you explore on your own. Some steep hills - and some easyhills. You have to ride out through a clear-cut area - but gave you a gorgeous vistaof the terrain for miles.I had a cattle lesson from the owner - he really gave me some insight on how to get the most from my horse. Both my husband and I enjoyed ourselves so much wecame back the following weekend and brought friends with us.
Smokerise does now have rental horses again!! Or, you can take your own. As of March 2014 the rental horses are back!! Can't wait to get back down there for some beautiful scenery, relaxing by the pool, and spending quality time with my family and the folks at Smokerise:)
We had a great family vacations at smoke rise. We used their horses and took roping lessons as well as trail rides and cattle rides. Absolutely beautiful scenery. Amazing trails, very adventurous. The wranglers were all very nice informative and fun. I can't say enough great things about this place. Memories to last a lifetime. It broke my heart to see that its closing. Smoke rise will be missed.
Love this place, unfortunately no longer renting horses for rides. Scenic and great hospitality from the Semingsons
