Our knowledgeable and entertaining guide Alan did a great tour, explaining the history of the winery, champagne production techniques, and the drives (storage tunnels) underneath. We thought the price of the tour was very reasonable at $16 adults and $10 kids. Our children aged ten and thirteen were as fascinated as we were, due to our excellent guide and the creepy fungus all over the walls of the drives. Wine tastings are free, and our guide explained how the different cellaring times affect the flavor and bubbles of the champagne. Highly recommended.
This place is terrific with a fabulous range of wines for tasting and sale. my favourite was the Silverband sparkling red, what a wine! Didn't have time to do the cellar tour so hopefully next time.
I would highly reccommend the underground tour!! Really interesting, with lots of detail and history. Not really one for small kids, though!! Beautifully grounds! Well worth taking a picnic lunch!!!
We stopped in here over the weekend for the drive tour. Our guide, Kerry was fantastic... Friendly & very knowledgable with a great sense of humour. The tour itself was very interesting & gave a great insight into the history of the place. Wine tasting was excellent & servings were generous (unlike other wineries I've been to) however the highlight of the trip would have to be the cheese platter.. It was DELICIOUS!!!
This is a winery with a difference, the staff our wonderful and helpful. The tour was interesting and ended with a tasting. The wine's here are outstanding and as a little treat we had the cheese plate , it was excellent. Great place to visit
We went to Seppelts Winery when we were visiting the area and touring a few of the local wineries. We had a very helpful lady doing our tasting, such a good knowledge of the wines. It was very enjoyable and we purchased much wine from there. Highly recommend a visit as they really have a great range of wines.
Stopped here with my group for lunch, tastings and a tour to kick start our Western Victoria trip, and it was a fantastic place to do so. A group lunch was easily organised, and the tour of the drives was a great way to highlight the history and heritage of the area. The tastings went well, with several people purchasing wines on the spur of the moment (mostly the sparkling ones). I must also profusely thank the staff member who recovered my jacket that I left behind, and ensured I got it back- going above and beyond the call of duty, that's for sure!
Located just off the Western Highway, approximately 17km north of Ararat, with the Grampians National park in the background. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I only had the opportunity to a quick wine tasting experience, which was free of charge.I know it is one of the largest wineries in the region, but I was also informed their underground cellars are the largest in the Southern hemisphere, impressive. There are premium wine tastings, food platters and tours available, which means a certainty for me, to stop by again on my next visit with more available time. The staff have a great knowledge, and a personality to match.
We did the cellar tour with wine tasting. Nice to hear the history and to see the underground cellars. It is like France only the bottles are filled with water and the cellars are no longer in use for the wine industry. But good that they still excist and wonderfull spot for celebrations. The wine tasting was nice and also the red sparkling wine is al little strange for us from Europe but for New Years Evening in Australië it will be great to drink.
We went on the tour, our guide Alan was very informative and knew all the history. At the end enjoyed the tasting. Enjoyed a cheese platter for lunch with a glass of stunning Shiraz. Highly recommend Seppelt you won't be disappointed.
